Hi, guys

I'm a new owner of a Mustang III amp!
While the stock presets are interesting and teach a lot, I want to make some new ones.

For starters, I want to craft some highly authentic Who, Zepplin, AC/DC, and stones presets.
What song presets would you like me to create?

What famous tone have you always been trying to reproduce?
Please list your guitar as well. I have a Strat and a Variaxe so I can emulate many guitars. My goal is to create famous Mustang song patches that sound right. To do that I'll have to make a Strat/Tele/Les Paul/ and ???? version of each patch.

Please reply and tell me what your favorite guitar sound of all time is. List several if you like. I'll collect them and post a list before creating the patches.

I'm all fired up and ready to start tweaking knobs!

P.S. I've been programming my Line 6 gear for several years, so I'm familiar with all the tech. I bought the Mustang for two reasons: 1) Fender amps have the most musical overdrive tones, and 2) The Who's "Won't get fooled again" tone was on a Fender Bassman!

Very well, i have 2 challenges for you!

1) This is the most popoular Mustang preset:

https://fuse.fender.com/mustang/presets/ryry444-acdc

It is ACDC, it is really close and real fun. I use it but i added a sutle reverb since angus do not use effect but he uses the natural reverb of the recording room...

The challenge is: do your own ACDC preset.

2) I never really found an iron maiden solo preset with that round and mellow tone. I would love if you can find it for me.

Thank you! :) :) :)

Yeah, believe me I know... :(

Not that I haven't tried myself but technology just hasn't gotten that far to be able to bottle that up - not at this price point anyway.

I just figured I would put out the challenge to see how close they came :D

Hi,
I would not underestimate that much, the potential of a Fender Mustang .. expecially Version 2.. I do not know if I can create a completely similar tone but there are other users very skilled at this.
Anyway...
Fractal audio technology can do that since the times of his discontinued D.S.P. Axe Fx Ultra (and probably could do a very good job since the times of the older Axe fx Standard) ..
at today Axe FX II (firmware 10) can create virtual models better than real things because, among various modes of sound shaping and compensation, you can choose to mitigate or eliminate some typical limitations and flaws of a certain amplifier where those features you do not like. Of course often are the distinguishing marks of a certain type of amplifier .. So there is a default setting of parameters according to which those defects and limitations are rightly emulated.
the downside is that it is a quite expensive product.

Dimitri

If you can get it in the city limits, you be tha man!

Closest I ever got was a distant outlying suburb before the engine quit and wouldn't go no further...
