you can run a 1/4" cable from the mustang's fx loop into another amp or a mixing board, the signal from the effects loop is a line level so it works well to run a cable from it to another amp

You can use the headphone-out for this purpose, but of course it mutes the guitar speaker. If you just want to send the sound direct to another guitar amp, through which you can hear what's being played, this may be the ideal answer.

If you still need sound to come from the amp speaker while also taking a feed to a PA system, for example, you could buy something called a "DI box" quite cheaply (eg Behringer DI-100), and connect its input to the Mustang's power amp output (eg at the speaker terminals). The DI box's output is then input to your PA. This does of course involve opening your Mustang case and doing some basic soldering, which I realise not everyone would be comfortable with.

ok, well in that case you could make it work but you would want to be mindful of your levels as not to overload the input stage of the amp you wish to connect to

Hi rock4monsters,

We will be happy to assist. It seems like youve been given some great feedback by other Forum mebers, thanks guys. We do not recommend making hardware changes to any of our Fender® devices and we do want to make you aware that, if you decide to make any modifications to your Fender® Mustang™ amplifier which involves opening up the back or modifying any hardware, it will void your warranty. Please let us know if we can assist further.
