Ok, i have a friend (more than one actually, would you belive it?) who is considering the purchase of an amp head.

Usage is to GIG with is own head and the cabs that the service or the venue offers.

This means connect every night the head to a different cab!

I would like to suggest him a very nice mustang V head but i dont know it will be a good choice in this scenario.

My main concerns are:

1) how does the V perform with other cabinets?

2) how does the V perform with mono cabinet?

3) how much should he have to tweak the preset night by night

consider that the alternative is a mid-low budget vlave head (bugera or h&K?).

My understanding is the Mustang V head will work fine with any cabinet. Obviously it may sound different with different cabs, but then that's true of any amp head.

I think the question to ask is: does your friend want a valve amp, or a DSP modelling amp? Make your decision based on that.

As for mono/stereo: the M-V head has two outputs, stereo left and right. You can use just one channel for mono (if you aren't fussed about any of the Mustang's stereo effects), or connect the two outputs to two different cabs. (Note you mustn't connect the two outputs together in any way).
