Hello - First off, let me say hello to everyone, so hello! I am a drummer that occasionally strums a guitar but more often than not, I like to let people that can actually play guitar play while I play my drums. When I bought my guitar, I bought a Fender Super Champ X2 Combo which I love. I love the way it sounds but it wasn't loud enough to play over my drums so i figured I would look for something with a little more power. I went to my local guitar store and looked at the Fender Mustang III for 350 and Mustang IV for 500 bucks. Being a Fender fan, I preferred it over the Line6 stuff that the sales man was cramming down my throat so I left the store to collect my thoughts. I had other things to do so I walked over to Best Buy to get a longer HDMI cable for my TV and to my surprise, I found a Music Store in the Best Buy store. As it turns out, the store is closing, in fact all music stores in the Best Buy chain are closing. These store are running huge discounts to clear their remaining inventory. I bought an hand full of items for next to nothing. If you have a Best Buy with a music store inside, go check it out quick because there are some great deals to be had. Enough rambling... I bought a new in box Mustang IV for 200 bucks but it is a V1 not a V2. I really like the look of the V1 over the V2 and have no need for the XLR outs so my question is, is there anything earth shattering about the differences between the two?

thanx/Bruce

I haven't played a V2 and most likely won't since Fender upset me by announcing the V2's just 2 weeks after I got my V1 amp at full price, I love my V1 amp but at the same time feel a bit cheated. So I won't be a repeat customer, but for 200$ you got a great deal. the V2 has a few more amp models and effects and the addition of Stereo XLR outs for running to a PA or mixing board, the V1 is a great amp and you will be able to dial in more tones than you will ever need with it, Good Job finding such a great deal, you will enjoy the amp

Definitely not,... especially for that price. That was a steal. Way to go Bruce and a deal of like the century. You landed a best buy for sure so enjoy your new amp and rest easily tonight knowing that they practically gave that to you.

Best-Buy is no longer reorting any M4v1's available via a website search. There are a couple available on eBay for under $300.
