I've checked with several retailers and the expression pedal isn't available anywhere. A rep at Thomann told me they will be out of stock till august. What's going on?

You don't say what country you're in. I'm in UK and had a similar issue. Stocks of this item in UK never seem to be high, I had to hunt around when I bought one. On the offchance you are in UK, these two places claim to have it in stock currently (17 June 2014): www.guitar.co.uk, www.soundsliveshop.com. It could be a case of trawling through many retailers' websites until you find one.

Hi ,
here in Italy not even the shadow of the EXP-1 and also the 4 buttons switch!

just after Easter when I bought the Mustang 3 V2, I stood in agreement with the employee of the guitar department of the store, telling me as soon as knew something at least about availability of the 4 buttons switch .. and possibly also the expression pedal.
Well, still no news and I sent a new email recently and now I read your news .. but what determines this issue in the distribution of accessories in Europe?

Probably Fender U.S. can give us useful information about it ..

Hi,
the guitar.co.uk has Expression Pedal and 4 buttons footswitch ULT4 that it was designed for GDEC3 and it is said that can cause problems with Mustangs because it is just partially compatible..

also the other store has Expression Pedal.. but not 4 buttons footswitch.

I live in the Netherlands but I usually order from www.thomann.de (excellent store, visit them sometimes music walhalla) or from www.feedback.nl. I've checked several big and small local and international retailers but nobody has them on stock and won't get them till over a few months, the places who do have them offer them at a mark-up price.

I'm not sure what to think of this, is this because there's a problem with the current line and Fender is phasing the current line out to replace them or is it just a production issue?

Yes I know but I have bad experiences with Bax so I avoid them.

My experiences so far are very good, bought my Fender Mustang III v1 / Exp1 Behringer Mic. there.
If you are so keen on having this pedal I would just order, the current price is very
good.
If not you might have to wait till august or even later.

To correct one possible misconception in the wording of the above:

The EXP-1 expression pedal works with Mustang amps (one way of reading the above suggests it doesn't) and is the correct part for the Mustangs.

For completeness, the MS-4 4-button footswitch is the correct item for the Mustang amps. The almost-but-not-quite-identical ULT4 works partially with the Mustangs but is intended for the GDEC amps. I posted all the part numbers some time ago; others have copied that post since, but as it's come up again:

Mustang 3/4/5 Two-Button Footswitch: 0080997000
Mustang 3/4/5 Four-Button Footswitch: 0080996000
Mustang 1/2 One-Button Footswitch: 0994049000
G-DEC ULT-4 Footswitch: 0994070000

The OP didn't ask about the footswitch so I didn't make any comment on that.

I ordered some high-end mixing gear from them a while back. After the goods were delivered they claimed they had sent me everything twice. They didn't listen, they took me to court and I won. Problem is they hired some irritating collection agency which called me almost daily to see whether I was paying or not. A separate harassment investigation is still ongoing.

Indeed very unpleasant to say the least, you will now have to wait till other retailers will have the exp1 in stock.
