Since all of us who play at church are playing similar types of music (e.g. Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Sovereign Grace, etc), I thought it would be great to share presets (stock or custom) so that we can try different ones.

I'm using a Mustang III V2 and am currently using preset #16 for clean and #28 for dirty with my Agile LP.

I did some testing with my Telecaster and use #05 for clean, #12 for chimey, and #44 for dirty.

I'm currently looking for a preset with delay to use for picking.

Please share:

1. Which Mustang you have
2. What guitar you use
3. What presets you use

I don't play at church but it is presumptuous of you to say everyone is playing similar types of music because that is not true. :P

I have a Mustang Floor that feeds right into the PA. I use one of 3 Strats and occasionally a Tele. When the Mustang Floor first powers up it always goes to the same first preset. So I have my first five presets set up as 1) Clean 65 Twin Reverb with Chorus (this is the one I use for most Hymns and Contemporary songs) 2) Clean 65 Twin Reverb with Tremolo 3) Clean 65 Twin Reverb w/ Reverb only 4) 65 Twin Reverb driven hard for a bluesy sound 5) Creamy Overdrive for that long, sustained distortion sound, which is not used too much. Either 4 or 5 work with "Let God Arise" and other rockers, especially from Chris Tomlin!

I use my Mustang Floor at church with my American Standard Strat. I think it's so cool that when the Floor is in Mono mode, you can set up the Right and Left outputs independently. So, I have the Right set up for a direct XLR feed to the soundboard for the PA, and the left set up for a 1/4" feed to my Tech 21 Power Engine. The church has started using the Aviom in-ear monitor system, so lately I haven't been using the Power Engine. It was mainly just a monitor for myself anyway. I'm 62 years old, and I'm still greatly influenced by the sound of Classic Rock, so I'm not trying to emulate the guitar sounds of Hillsong or anyone else in particular. I'm using a basic bank of 5 sounds, going from the cleanest to the most distorted. The first 3 use the '65 Deluxe Reverb model with 3 different gain settings so I can choose Clean, Dirt or Crunch sounds. The last 2 both use the Super-Sonic (Burn) model, again with 2 different gain settings so I can choose either a smoother soft Fusion kind of solo sound or an all out Mesa Boogie/Santana sustain kind of solo sound. I used to own a Mesa Boogie and when I switched to digital modeling stuff, I always used their Mesa Boogie models for my main solo sound. The Mustangs have a Mesa Rectifier model, but not a Mesa Boogie model - not the same thing. So I had to coax the Super-Sonic (Burn) model into sounding something like a Boogie. My cleanest sound has a Chorus effect active by default, but I can turn it off if I want to. I have the wonderful '65 Spring Reverb on all of the sounds, and usually a subtle delay. I also have some compression on the 2 solo sounds. That's what I do with my Mustang Floor at church.

I use a mustang floor with a '69 Fender P-Bass strait into the PA. I use a custom patch with the studio preamp, compression and occasionally some delay.

Mustang 3 V2 Owner, With all the settings in the amp, Why would I need anything but the amp itself? Seems funny that you would need anything external. Oh Well.

The first thing we did was wipe out ALL of the presets and start from scratch. So really, although three guitarists use a MIII at our church and it's working out well (rotating the schedule), the preset thing is not relevant to your thread so I can't really say much.

Interesting! How many do you use? Are they on Fuse?

We use three presets for each person. Then we match them up to the three presets on the 4-button footswitch when we arrive for the service. For example, if it's my day, I just set it to my three presets when I show up and it's done! They are not on Fuse/

I have just started using an older Mustang Floor at church. I use an Agile fat strat copy w/no extra pedals yet. Have not had time to experiment with many different sounds but have used a '65 Deluxe patch with good results.

Use Mustang Floor in 200-3500 seat churches for last 9 months with positive results.

Initially, it took approx 12 hrs of "dialing" in amp & effect tones in FUSE with a "house" PA system to get it to sound right to me. But now where ever I play the tone adjustment is minimal to none. Use a Fender-Blues Jr (set to Clean) as my monitor if needed. Setup time is literally 5 minutes.

Set Presets "0-4" with my "customized" amp models: SuperSonic, Marshall, Vox, Bassman & Twin. Added on-board stomps to each amp. This works for me.

I DON'T USE EXTERNAL PEDALS YET. Until the MF allows external pedals in the Post-Effects Loop position there is no reason for me to use them.

Axes:
Single coil strats with Lil SD 59ers in bridge position.

Setup:
MF > XLR Left > PA -Bass > PA System.
MF > 1/4 Right > PA -MidScoop > BJr.

FYI-Played a Rock club (showcase) gig & during the 1st song the assistant sound guy was trying to adjust the Vol levels of a Marshall half stack behind me thinking I was using it. But I was not. The MF was going "direct" into PA & was using the "Marshall" amp model. That says a lot to me.

I'm happy to see this thread. There's not much on these forums for worship music. So, maybe we can share some good ideas. It took me a while to come up with tones I was satisfied with. But, I'm always looking for new ideas and suggestions. Like other people have said, it's best to just start from scratch. I have found a couple of user created tones on Fuse, but even those required some adjustments.

I finally came up with five patches that I primarily use. I have a Mustang Floor, and play a Strat. Our boards are run straight into the PA.

Hi StratPlayerAL,

I'm very curious about your presets. I have tried several driven presets at church but I always go back to clean sounds as the driven sounds that I tried are too aggressive. If you could upload your presets that would be great! I would definitely give them a try this next Sunday.
