Hi y'all,

I recently bought a Mustang Floor and I'm really happy with it. However, the other day I experimented some unpleasant issue : I plugged it into a wall outlet that isn't earthed (my house is old, not all rooms are earthed). Then, playing and tweaking the knobs, I felt some small electric shocks, both by touching the metal body of the MF and touching the strings of the guitar! When I plug my MF into an earthed outlet, no problem at all.
I find it surprising, because of course I know it's more safe to use an earthed wall outlet, but I thought it was only a security in case of leakage current.
Does my unit have a problem, or is it the normal behaviour?

Thanks guys for your answers!

:( Ain't nobody there that could help? I would feel better if I knew if the Mustang Floor is faulty, or if my domestic electrical circuit is...

Do you mean that you get a shock when you touch the chassis of the MF and your guitar strings at the same time, or you touch either one? Are you touching anything conductive?

Oh, that's a good question indeed, I need to check again. I would say it was even when I touched only the chassis, but I will check tonight and let you know!

Hi soulboogaloo,

We will be happy to assist. We cannot recommend using a power adapter without a grounding pin with any Fender® product drawing high voltage current. Please exercise caution and always use a properly grounded outlet for your any amplifier. Please let us know if we can assist further.
