We know how specific your question is because you keep asking it. It's been answered. The answer you think you want does not exist.

NONE of the headphones available come close to the Celestion in your M3

You guys are so funny... starting from relativity to argumentation, seriously. Are you two so stuck up in this discussion that you do not see the falsity in your argument? Even funnier is that I understand what you are ACTUALLY trying to say but the argumentation is so wrong...

I'll help you out of your misery, there is 1 headphone which is closest just like there is one which is farthest. Or are you guys seriously trying to argue that all headsets are equal? Because that in turn means that all speakers are equal and thus the opposite of what you're saying is actually true.

Bonus points, investing in good quality equipment doesn't matter because everything is equal.

If you're trying to match the tone between what your hear in your cans to what you hear when your not listening through cans I wish you the very best of luck. I tried for a while than just decided it was moot. Have to just find a middle ground or set up separate presets if need to have them tweaked perfectly for say going straight into a DAW or something.

No, I just want a headset which I can use to play at night and which has reasonably the same frequency response as the Celestion.

I could further explain why you're not getting it, but you seem like a troll. So go find your own headphones.

I just came across this very interesting article about speakers for guitar amplifiers, which I post here as I think it may be of general interest to many on this forum (based on what I've seen discussed in several other topics):
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/feb12/a ... eakers.htm

Of specific relevance to this topic, it answers the question: "why the electric guitar signal sounds better through the amp’s speaker than the speakers in your headphones or studio monitors, even though the latter are technically superior."
