I was wondering a few things. Where are all of the user downloads for mustang version1 ?
When I look they all seem to say v2? Can you download user presets for mustang v2 for v1?? I have never used the fuse software or the user presets & was thinking of trying them out. Also ,can anyone tell me what I will have to upgrade? The firmware or any software I may need. My amp is about a year and a half old. I have basically just used the buttons on the amp & wanted to try something new. Thanks I appreciate the help.

On the fuse site you have the option to choose mustang or mustang v2. mustang v1 will load a V2 preset but it will omit any stomps or amp models that aren't on the V1 and replace them with something close to the intended sound. you might need to upgrade your amps firmware and you may need to download the newest version of Fuse

Having your amp connected to FUSE you will have a lot more options available - only way to go. FUSE will also take a fair stab at converting V2 presets to V1s.

Once you have FUSE installed you will see the option to update your amp's firmware to the latest. Still, a V1 cannot be updated to a V2, as there are some small hardware differences as well as a few additional models and mods in the firmware.

Thanks for all the Info (kreature & FernandR) I appreciate the help. I did`nt know that Mustang V1 would load V2 presets. Nice to know. I guess I basically wanted to try it for the sake of trying it. LOL As for being able to do a lot more or have more options. Not sure what you mean about that. I can get to most everything from the amp itself as far as I know. But I may be wrong, since I have not tried it. Thanks again.

There are some settings that can only be changed in Fender FUSE. Bias/Sag settings for example, AFAIK you can not change those on the amp.

Bias and Sag can be changed on the amp (at least with M-3,4,5). They're on the second screen of amp controls.

Things that can't be changed on the amp include the amp models Bright Switch and Master Volume [edit - as others have pointed out, you can adjust the amp model's Master Volume], for those amps that have them, plus a few other minor things I can't recall at the moment.

Note the amp model's "Master Volume" is different to the Mustang's Master Volume.

also I believe that there are 2 amp models that have a Blend knob that can only be accessed via Fuse

If you are talking about the later model Amps ( more of the High Gain amps) I can get to the Master volume also from the amp also. I have a mustang 4 version 1. If you are on an amp the is 80`s,90`s 2000 & I think 70`s also. You can get to the Bias & the master volume by pressing the amp button. Then press the amp button again. This will bring you to 2nd page which has Bias, sag, presance, & master volume. Also has a noise gate on the higher gain amp models. Not sure if I have noticed a bright switch though? Although i am guessing that is on one of the earlier Fender amps? Bassman or 65 etc?

the only two thing I remember you can change only using fuse are:

-bright switch for the amp models that have it
-effect order (post/pre amp)

all the rest, including bias, sag, amp emulation master volume, low cut, etc, you can change from the amp itself (on M3,4,5)

the other feature that Fuse allows that you can not do with just the amp is change whether effects are post or pre amp, meaning you can choose if you want the effect to be a stomp or a rack mount through fx loop, British 70's has a blend function under advanced amp settings in Fuse that you can not get on the amp's interface, so does the 59 Bassman, British 60's has a bright switch in Fuse so does the 65 Twin Reverb, Fuse also adds more advanced setting of the noise gate, I see that I spoke too soon and the effects post/pre has already been mentioned

I don't know which Mustang you have. If you have a M I or M II, you have no access to the majority of settings on the amp. If you have a III, IV or V, you can use the little screen, but it's a lot like a proctologist's view of the patient. The FUSE screens are much more informative.

I have the V head version 1, the features I listed in my previous post are the ones that are not available on the amp
