Hi there!

I'm wondering what's the difference between Version1 and Version2 of the cabinet (412).

From the description they seem to be identical!

Can you help me on this?
Thanks in advance!

Valentin

Possibly the only difference is the covering material?

One is covered in a carbon-fiber looking tolex. The other is covered in a black levant tolex.

Seriously? That's the only one difference between these 2? This means that you guys would recommend version 1 since it's cheaper?

Thanks in advance

Le: looks loke the impedance of the speakers is different. V1 8ohms v2 16ohms. Which one is better?

The V1 cabs will be cheaper now because they're end-of-line. Although aesthetics don't make you play guitar any better, you might want to get the correct-appearance cab to match your Mustang-V head, assuming of course you are buying this cab to go with a M-V head?

First, don't confuse individual speaker impedance with overall cabinet impedance. As far as I know, both v1 and v2 have a cabinet impedance of 8 ohms (for each channel), with individual speakers of 16 ohms.

Also note this "4x12" cabinet is really two completely independent 2x12 cabinets in the same box, one for left channel and one for right channel output from the Mustang V head.

Finally, neither 8 ohms nor 16 ohms is "better" than the other. You just need the correct impedance to match the amplifier. Driving a 16 ohm load with an amplifier that's expecting 8 ohms will give you a quieter sound and possibly inaccurate sound reproduction. Driving an 8 ohm load with an amplifier that's expecting 16 ohms may lead to interesting bangs, smoke and broken equipment.
