I just have my mustang floor and just tried to switch between volume and expression mode by pushing the pedal at the toe end. According to the manuals this should work... Probably and hopefully I am foing something wrong, because I can not use the WAH on preset 86, it remains in volume mode.... Help? Or is something wrong with my new Mustang Floor???

I don't have an M-Floor, but if the pedal on that is anything like the EXP-1, then...

There is a push-switch under the toe-end of the pedal. Hook your finger under the pedal and push the switch down; does this make your M-Floor move between volume and expression mode?

If not -> your push-switch might be faulty.

If it does -> are you pressing down hard enough on the toe-end of the pedal to actuate the push-switch under the pedal? If you're pushing as hard as you can (or as hard as seems sensible without breaking anything!), then it's possible your push-switch isn't aligned correctly and there isn't enough movement in the pedal to actuate it.

Thanks Scott-uk, you helped me with analyzing the problem: so the push-switch isn't aligned correctly and there isn't enough movement in the pedal to actuate it (because the button below the pedal itselves seems to work....)

But what should I do now to solve this:

1. Go back to the shop where I bought it?
2. Execute the procedure in 'Pedal Tension' of the Advanced manual of the Mustang floor on page 6. Or will this not help at all?

Taking the unit back to the shop and exchanging it is probably the correct thing to do.

I don't think changing the pedal tension will help; I haven't adjusted the tension on mine, but I think it only changes the stiffness of pedal movement, it doesn't change the range of movement.

A DIY fix would be to 'chase' the two fixing nuts for the push-switch along the thread, effectively raising the push switch a bit. You have to open your M-Floor to gain access to the nut under the mounting plate. This would of course void your warranty.

Another non-warranty-voiding DIY fix could be to glue a small shim to the underside of the pedal where it meets the switch.

I'd still suggest checking you're absolutely certain there's no way the pedal will actuate the switch though. On mine at least, the pedal goes all the way to the end of its travel, and you think it won't move any more. But then firm pressure on the toe-end gives just enough to actuate the switch. I think that's how it's supposed to be, so that you don't hit the switch by accident when just trying to move the pedal to its normal toe-end limit.

Ruelly, just how old is your Mustang Floor? I have an EXP-1 pedal, and when it was new I practically had to stand up on the toe before it would engage! I started calling it my "stomp pedal". :D It eventually loosened up and now engages without much pressure.
