Crazy question: Can the sound of this guy's guitar at the 1:47 mark of this video be duplicated with the equipment I have? Dean Vendetta XM and a Fender Mustang II. I went through all 24 factory pre-sets and couldn't come close. I haven't downloaded any more yet. Will I find that sound in the downloaded ones? I'm brand new with the guitar. Thanks.

It sounds to me like a bit of reverb and chorus, with light overdrive. But I'm far from an expert on figuring out the make-up of a final guitar sound so I'm sure others can make better suggestions.

I doubt any of the 24 stock presets will be the right sound. Hook your amp up to FUSE and dial-in your own effects and settings, that will get you closer to the sound you want, more quickly, than trying to find somebody else's ready-made preset.

Also, I note you've already asked the youtube poster the same question - he says he's using a Digitech processor. Your best route is to ask him further exactly what settings he used on it for the solo in the song, rather than us trying to guess. He sounds a friendly chap so I'm sure will be amenable to assisting you.

Hi,

that sound is classic surf reverb washout.
using fuse, dial any basic clean blackface preset (basic bassman, basic 57 deluxe should be fine) then add a post amp small plate reverb with the level cranked up quite a bit and you will not be far. adjust the amp gain depending on how hot your pickups are to get a clean but powerful sound.
