This post says to skip the firmware update on these products for the moment with Fuse 2.70
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=84454

Can it be updated with Fender FUSE 2.6.1.45?

Getting a Mustang IV v2 tomorrow. Don't want to brick it.

You can't use FUSE 2.6.x.x with a V2 Mustang amp, you have to use FUSE 2.7.

There are no firmware updates for the V2 amps yet. The firmware it comes with "out of the box" is the latest/current version.

People who have used FUSE 2.7 to "update" the firmware have simply been overwriting the firmware with the same version. In some cases this has caused problems.

So Fender are advising not to do that. They will presumably make a fixed version of FUSE 2.7 available prior to releasing any firmware updates for the V2 amps.

In short: install and use FUSE 2.7 (latest build: 2.7.0.30) to configure your amp. Just don't try and do a firmware update, there's no need and there's a small risk.

HI,
really, a few weeks ago it was released also a beta 2.1 firmware update which added in the Utility menu the feature of FX loop position with two settings: normal path (insert point before cab emulation section) or looper path (insert point after cab section) .. and added also some slight improvements to tone of few cabs simulations..
It is a beta version but it works flawlessy like a stable version.
I was just wondering where it ended the post and the link of Fender if someone that doesn't have it would like to download it at today...

Dimitri

update:
now, seems it is a stable version also 2.1.
here it is : http://support.fender.com/software/fender_software/MustangV2/MustangV2_III-V_firmware_2.1.zip

Hi doctorwizz,

We will be happy to assist. Again, it seems that scott-uk came to the rescue with great advise, thanks Scott:) In regards to the two separate firmware builds for the Fender® Mustang™ (V2) III/V amplifiers, we designed a second (optional) firmware build for the Mustang (V2) III/V amplifiers to accommodate consumers with a Looper pedal application. Please take a look at the link below for information in regards to the additional v.2.1 firmware build. Please let us know if we can assist further.
