Can I use my Line 6 pod HD500 as an extra effects deck in conjunction with my musfloor? I love the amp tones of the musfloor beyond all, but line 6 configuration abilities are excellent as well for the individual effects. Can anyone help me to make sure I don't screw them up by chaining them?

Again, I want to use the pod hd500 only for effects, not amp sims? Do I bring them in the loop?

I wouldn't see any harm in chaining the 2 effects units. it would work much the same way as stringing pedals together in the chain. I would advise you to turn the output levels of everything all the way down and adjust the levels accordingly, just experiment, I am sure you will be able to find a combo you like, just be mindful of the output levels of the effects and the amp,

Should I place the musfloor first in chain or second. When I was amp/analog pedals, I always had my board to my amp, my amp to the mic, mic to PA. Is the line up still the same in theory?

I would experiment try it both ways and see what sounds best to you. with both a pod HD500 and a mustang floor you have countless combinations of tones and effects to play with, the best advice I can give is try the pod going into the mustang, then try the mustang going in to the pod, see what you like best. play with the different effects see how they sound in both wiring configurations, Only you can decide what sounds best to you, so the best way to find it is jump in and have fun, just be mindful of your levels, and not to add too many effects at the same time

Also, as well as putting the M-Floor before or after the POD, you could also put the M-Floor in the POD's fx-loop, in the middle of the POD's signal chain. That would give you yet more possibilities.

Due to my lack of knowledge with chaining Effects boards via FX loop, I resorted to taking the left unbalanced out on my Musfloor into the Guitar in on the pod, and then left unbalanced out on Pod to the PA. It works great, but I would rather go the FX loop route. The problem is the FX loop section on back of pod is different than the musfloor, and no matter how I arranged, I got nutting!

Any help appreciated...

Connect guitar to POD input
Connect POD fx-send to M-Floor input
Connect M-Floor output to POD fx-return (you can do this mono or stereo)
Connect POD output to PA/whatever

Note there are no connections to the M-Floor's fx-loop in this configuration. (You could connect further thing's in the M-Floor's fx-loop, but that's a different discussion...)

Then set up POD so that its fx loop (which will be all the M-Floor effects) is where you want it in the POD's signal chain. Then set up effects (which from your other posts is principally the amp modelling, I think) on M-Floor as you want them.

So you can use the POD for the pre- and post- effects, and the M-Floor for the amp modelling. Or any other permutation you desire...
