Hello

I recently built a footswitch out of some spare parts I had. Construction was simple, a stompbox switch, a 1/4” Jack, a gutted DI Box to house the components, and a bit of wire. Works great does what its supposed to do. I do however notice that there is slight latency whereas if I’m say on a “Clean Channel” preset and step on the switch to add some dirt with an “Overdrive Preset” there is a very slight fade up to the next preset. Not a huge deal especially if you switch between a part, but I’m just wondering if this is how the official Fender footswitch behaves or perhaps another component I need to add. I’m of the assumption its just an open/close switch so there shouldn’t be any other components I’m missing.

Cheers

CC

Hi captainc,

Thanks for your inquiry. That is cool that you have built a foot switch. Unfortunately, we are not able to talk about our designs or internal components of our products. You may want to purchase the Fender® single button foot switch that is designed for the Mustang™ II. That part number is (0994049000). Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

I do not know about the Mustang 1-2 but at least with the M3, it does not matter if you switch presets with a foot switch or the dial, there's a slight delay changing presets (split second) Also, depending on the preset you are switching TO there might also be some pops and clicks when changing, this happens only with very few presets.

I get a slight delay too on my MIII v1, it's exactly like my old setup with a Marshall JMP-1 and a Digital Music Corp 'Ground Control' MIDI pedal controller.
