just got a mustang floor and wondering what my best option is out of a tech 21power engine and a alto ts 112a powered p.a speaker.
the tech 21 seems more convienent as far as weight and size, but i can get a deal on the alto used locally.

right now i am useing one of our yamaha powered p.a speakers to play on at home and running direct at band practice with in ear monitors.havnt used it live yet.

thanks.

I have a Tech 21 Power Engine and it's awesome. I've had it for many years and I've used it with various modeling preamps from Line 6 and BOSS. Now I use it with my Mustang Floor. I've read that some people really like going through a powered PA. I'm sure you could make it sound good through about anything, as long as the Output Voicing is set up correctly in the Utility menu.

I use an alto ts 110a and love the way it sounds.

It's funny how very similar questions pop-up at the same time. Assuming your question is "how do I use a Mustang IV as the amp/speaker in conjunction with a Mustang Floor?" then I've just answered that in this topic:

viewtopic.php?f=27&t=86192

The only difference is that topic talks about a Mustang III. It's exactly the same for the M-IV, except that you connect the left output of the M-Floor to the left fx-return of the M-IV, and the right output of the M-Floor to the right fx-return of the M-IV. Obviously make sure the M-Floor is set to output stereo.

Hi Guys,

One note to add here would be that since the Fender® Mustang™ Floor has the ability to turn off amp modeling all together, you can use it as an in-line or dedicated effects unit. Or, as scott-uk suggests, you can use it to connect to an effects return or Amp input and use the Floor as your entire amp and effects unit, etc. In the end, there are a number of ways to use the Mustang Floor. Please let us know if we can assist further here.

Best Regards,
