Hi,

Does anyone here gig or play live with a Mustang III and no pedals? That is my current set up at church.

Anyone want to upload theiry and provide the links to them? I'd like to listen to some of the presets that you use so that I can compare them to what I'm currently using.

I'm a new electric player and currently am using the 4-button pedal with 3 presets, one for clean, one for crunch, and one for lead.

Thanks!

Hi,

I do play every week in a similar setting, but just rhythm guitar. I tend to concentrate around clean and surf-rock presets. Here are two I built that I use all the time:

This is sort of an accoustic emulator that I created for my strat:

This is a surf preset I use a lot:

I also like the Bassman Splash that comes with the amp.

For some songs I like the basic deluxe or basic british 60 with some tremolo, to add some weirdness to it :)

My Mustang IV does more than enough live (and I don't mic it), Im pretty sure your 3 should do just fine. I have it out every weekend. For church you should have no problem at all with that set up.
My 4 button set up is still in the works but:
(I use option 2 on the pedal)

00 = Lead Crunch
01 = Clean
02 = Lead Clean
03 = Crunch
04 = Lead Crunch
05 = Clean

Its the best route for what I need having 4 settings within 6 presets meaning you don't have to go far for each. :mrgreen:

Yes I also have the IV & I use Mode 2 most of the time.You can then store as many settings as you need in a row & Name them.What I like to do Is have 1 main all around clean followed by a Main Rythem followed by a main Solo(boosted a bit) This would be used for 75% of Songs.So if you stored those in say Bank 1 2 & 3 Then any other music you do that have specific settings that are differant can be stored after that.Say on bank 5 through 12.Unless you need more then that.Which I don`t.I find this the easiest way for me.Then You can write number next to your set list or whatever works for you. Good luck

A friend who gigs regularly in my area does just that, Mustang III, no pedals other than the foot switches.
This is a guy who never used a ton of effects anyway, and has only about three tones that he uses like it appears a lot of Mustang or modeling amp players do. A great clean sound, a sound with a little dirt, and a boosted solo/lead sound. He does use reverb and a little delay on his presets, but that's it.
I sat in with him a month ago for a couple of sets, and he never missed anything by not having a board with a bunch of pedals.

I play at church every week with the Mustang III version 1. No issues at all getting all kinds of great sounds. I use the 4-button FS only.

I've just finished two gigs with my lll and the 4 button switch.
I don't miss my tube amp and pedal board nor does my 60 year old back.
Very pleased with my tone.
I use a clean tone-Deluxe Reverb w tape delay
Crunch tone- Tweed twin w green pedal, tape delay
Lead tone -70's Marshall w red box, tape delay
