What about a USB controller that could be designed sort of like a stomp box with virtual knobs that could be assigned to a stomp box through fuse and control lit like a pedal.

I call it "The Fuse Box" ... now if only i could build it.

Hey I'd even take a foot pedal with the two footswitches (4 and 2) combined into one unit. I hate having to take both pedals with me just for tap tempo.

Sorry, but your description sounds a lot like the Mustang Floor to me :)
can you pinpoint the differences? Do you mean a smallest form factor of the Floor?

No, I mean the foot controller for the Mustang III and higher combo amps. To get all of the functions, you need the small AND large controllers plus the expression pedal. It would be nice to have all of that in one. No effects or models. No pre-amp. Just the physical switches and screen for the tuner on a foot pedal.

I see what you mean. The only issue is that it is going to need to be dirt cheap, otherwise for 175$ you can get the Floor that does all that and much more. If they can do it for 100$ or less it could be interesting.

Yeah but the floor isn't a combo amp. I'm just looking for a better foot switch for the combo. I'd pay like $89 for that.

I agree. I would pay 90$ for that too.
I looked into the EXP-1 several times but I found that a single expression pedal for 89$ is too expensive.
With the addition of 6 buttons and a small preset display i will buy it right away (particularly a display that shows not only a preset number but moreover a preset name).
Heck they can even reuse the floor housing and gut all the amp emulation electronics and extra connectors and they should be in business.

Or even simpler, they could keep the existing 2-digit display found on the 4-button switch. Just have two 1/4" leads coming out the end of the one cable, to match up with the two footswitch jacks on the back of the amp. This would be AWESOME and it would require nothing new on the amp end and NO POWER adapters!

My idea was sort of an extention of the LCD panel on the Mustang III and up i suppose, but would be compatible as an add on to the I and II. A small stompbox unit that looks similar to the zoom multistomp. The difference between my idea and the floor would be that it wouldn't have any sounds, just virtual knobs and and on and off function to control whatever FX were assigned to it.

Sounds good to me. Yours would use the USB port and mine would use the two footswitch jacks. How about it, Fender? Here's a need for your faithful Mustang users!
