jasonk931,
While you're doing that A/Bing, maybe you could also A/B the Mustang's and the Pod's compressors. That's the other thing that, to me, are completely ineffective in the Pods and just don't feel right.
Thanks.

will do. I agree. The compressor on the Pod seems to act as an overdrive rather than true compression. I miss my JHS pulp n peel compressor often!

Yeah, I just don't think they get that part about feel and response. They have a very static approach to modeling... and their products reflect that. They feel extremely one dimensional to play through.

Folks!!!!! I must be high for not getting this pedal sooner! I was nervous at first because of the simplicity of the MusFloor, and then I plugged it in where my pod was in our auditorium about 40 minutes ago....Unbelieveable. Finally, some tone, feel, and fullness from a floor pedal direct to PA. Fender, you rule the stringed universe with wings of Alder and claws of nickel and bone.

Line 6 Pod Hd500 vs. MusFloor= Chuck Norris Eats the pod hd 500, and asks the MusFloors permission to continue his meal!!!

I turned it on and wham! Each preset packed with tone, tone, and more tone!

A/B the compressors. Musfloor= smooth, even compression and boost when needed. Line 6= A little hollow and overly trebling on all. They got the mix crossed with their overdrive s and compressors.

Get A MUSFLOOR!

Tell your wife it costs less than the price of two new stompboxes! Not even premium stompboxes! The MF is the best value accessory for a guitar PERIOD!

And I wouldn't worry too much about whether they are going to release a V2. There is no indication that they are any time soon and when/if they do they will charge twice as much for it.

Glad you are enjoying your new toy. I got the Mustang II but was in a similar situation. I had (have) the Boss GT6 for years and at my last job, had the luxury of spending countless hours at my desk with my strat dialing in patches. But I always felt it was just missing something. Since I was drawn to and had the best luck with the Fender models, and based on all the hub hub about the mustang, I just bought one without even trying it out. Best purchase I ever made. The second I turned it on my strat just came to life like I just stuck that hat on Frosty the snowman “happy birthday!!!” This thing just sounds amazing without nearly the effort and tweaking needed.

I thought about keeping the GT6 for the dirt boxes but now I’m less inclined to even bother cabling it up. Probably will just sell it and get a good dirt box to stick on the front of the mustang so I can have a compressor, OD or Boost with the Dirt pedal.

Enjoy your new toy. Once you get into Fuse and start downloading patches its even cooler.
:D

I am beyond excited about it. The fender forum, gear registry, all of it is just top notch. My Pod HD 500 goes on ebay tomorrow because there's no reason to keep it. Im actually getting a second Mustang floor as a backup in case of an issues while on stage. What are your favorite patches on Fuse? Im trying that for the first time tomorrow.

ok, you guys are KILLING ME!!!! I was thinking about the HD500 or the desk POD, but was slightly thinking about the Mustang Floor. Now I think I better switch my focus. I play jazz, well my friends call it redneck surf jazz, as I use mostly cleans, sometimes a hint of dirt, and reverb sits between 2 and "clean up on aisle 15"...lol.

What do you think about the Floor with a handful of stompboxes vs the Floor with maybe the Line 6 M13?

These are a few that I downloaded and will probably keep on there for a while though might tweak a wee bit to my Strat/Pickups/Room etc. I’m really into David Gilmour and I like Keith Scott as well so I was pretty stoked on the Bryan Adams one. Good warm smelly sounding Marshall tone there.

Here are a couple I made. Not sure if they are compatible with the floor since I have the Mustang II v.2. But I think they sound pretty decent for my early attempts and to my ears, they sound worlds better than anything I made on the GT unit and took much less time and frustration. My only wish is that you could have two stomp boxes instead of just one. I would love to be able to shape the tone on the Big Fuzz a little more with the booster stomp box. I had the same limitation on the GT6 so nothing new and as I mentioned, I’m thinking of buying a Rat or Muff type pedal to go with it and ditch the GT6.

Have fun!!!

Are you needing more than the Musfloor can give? I am only adding a Jaman XT solo looper to my flow...period!

Must say, the M13 is a sonic dreamland as well.
