Q1: Where do you put your analog pedals? In the loop or in front of Floor?

Q2: When using the loop(return/send) do you notice a drop in volume/dynamics? I do.

Hi,

sonically speaking putting your pedal in the instrument input or fx loop is exactly the same. The only advantage of the fx-loop is that you can switch your external pedal( or chain of pedals) on an off with the insert button on the floor (that get's saved with the preset).

If you experience volume drops with your pedal, take a look at your pedal and comments from other people around the net about the same issue, many many pedals (even famous ones) have poor response, or will suck part of your tone, , even when switched off, unless they have a true bypass.

As an additional test, try putting your pedal after the mustang floor (and before your power amp) to see if it sucks your tone too.
