As the title says, I've got a spare Mustang 2-button footswitch...can it be modified to work in some way with a different amp?

I don't think that pedal will work with many other amps if any. Supposedly it's not like the old-style amp pedals where it's just a button, a switch, and a wire.

With Mustang III-V, you can use the 2 button along with the 4 button for more options, such as assigning QA to the 4 button, and bank up/down to the 2 button.

I have both, and so far I've opted to just use the 4 button with the 2 button in my bag as a backup.

Yup : exactly how I use the pair too, my only "grouse" being not always remembering which direction the last 4-button "jump by 10" was, up or down! It's always struck me that the addition of one simple LED would've solved this...and one would do, any colour. If lit (say), your next press is adding 10, if unlit, you're going down....
Anyway, I digress....
Thanks for thoughts on this matter. I realised that the innards of the 2-button were more involved than a normal on/off/similar, but thought some electronic wizard might have played around with one!
