I have a mustang 2 which i had changed the speaker with a jensen c12n. Realising i have a spare speaker now i was considering building a cab and using both.
Fender manual states the amp is 8 ohm, and both speakers are 8 ohms.
If i wire them in series the speaker load will go to 16 ohms.
If i wire them in parallel the speaker load will go to 4 ohms.
Which wiring should i go with ?
Is there another way i can wire the two speakers to get an 8 ohm load?

if you put a 16 ohm load you will have roughly half the overall volume
if you put a 4 ohm load you will blow out your mustang amp. Don't.

To obtain a 8ohm load using 8ohm speakers you are going to need 4 speakers.
-put two speakers in series
-put another two speakers in series
-put both series constructs in parallel with each other

the overall result will be 8ohm cabinet.

Well i went ahead and hooked it up in series, did not loose much volume to speak about. But with two speakers now, my mustang has a great bass sound on 6&5 string, a punchy 4&3 string and a sharp 2&1 string. It sounds fantastic, now back to learning how to play TTFN
