I have a Mustang 3 V1 and a Mustang 3V2 and I was wondering if anyone has tried running 2 mustangs with one 4 button footswitch. I was thinking of running both at the same time but don't want to be tap dancing and miss my cues?

interesting.

are you trying to get stereo sound for the same preset or to have two different presets and have two parallel signal paths from your guitar to each amp?

the first option is easy and is only a lead cable away, go from fx-send on the M3v2 to FX-return on the M3v1 (with the M3v2 in looper mode). Connect your guitar to the M3v2 instrument input and rock on!

The second one might be not possible with just one footswitch, as these footswitches are not mere interruptors but have some intelligence and communicate with the mustang in a more sophisticated way (think for example the display you have on the footswitch, if it were conencted to two amps, which one should it display info about?)
On top of that you are going to need to split your guitar signal to both amps, needing extra hardware for that.

I am going for two separate tones, I have a digitech whammy pedal that has a dry out that I run before the amp. Could send wet to one amp & dry to the other. Thought I could program the sounds I want to use together at the same patch # on each amp and then call them up in pairs. I thought by adding certain tones like a clean sound with a wee bit of edge to a more driven sound I could get a more defined and interesting sound. Just an idea, don't know if it'll pan out and would definitely be a lot of work, but all worth it in the quest for great tone. Good point on the footswitch info display ?, I didn't think of that but it may be currently impossible. I'll eventually get to actually trying it, I have another 4 button switch on order for my V2 so I may have to live with 2 amps and 12 buttons of F/Switches.

Just spitballing here.
First, you'd need an A/B/Y pedal, then run a single Two-Button Foot Switch into the common input, then two outs, one to each amp.
You'd want your parallel programs with the *same* program number. So, AMP ONE, Preset #01 would be Clean Fender (for example), and AMP TWO, also Preset #01, would be Dirty Marshall. It'd be limited to incrementing UP/DOWN, but there would be two different programs on two different amps, controlled by a single foot switch... It's crazy... but... it might... just ... work!!!

Where there's a will...! I haven't tried anything yet as I have 20 songs to learn this week. But this weekend I'll check out this idea. Thanks.
