I picked up a used amp Mustang II at Guitar Center and I'm liking it more and more every day. I down loaded a marshal 100 stack preset and i was actually impressed (not that it's too difficult to impress me) after working with it i have the hum down to a manageable level. The one thing i can't seem to figure out is the very loud hum when using line in from my Note book. It's a high end Dell with quad processors and a high end sound card. If you have experience with this I'd appreciate advice.

The hum most talked about here with the USB connector is all but gone when I run the note book on battery. It's almost bearable when I make sure the amp and note book are using different power supply's. I wish my note book speakers were as high end as the rest of the system, but it is a note book in spite of its 12 lbs. ;)

Thanks guys!!!

Unhook your wall adapter and try it with just the battery. If the hum goes away, find a two prong to three prong adapter and use that on the power cable of the laptop. That has worked for me when I use my propeller head reason live as a synth and play back into my keyboard amps...

Hi 2TechGirls,

We will be happy to assist. It sounds like you might be experiencing some ground related issues. Have you tried switching outlets for your workstation, to see if that helps resolve the issue you are seeing. Please let us know how it goes and we will be happy to assist.
