Hi frypot,

The model that is referred to here for use with acoustic guitar and bass would be the "Studio Preamp". Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

No, you could use the bassman-model, that was actually designed to be a bass-amp to begin with ;)

Be sure to use a basscabinet however and turn of the cab-sim.

Wait a second, help me out here. I just bought a MIII v2 yesterday. So i can run my bass and Boss GT-10B through the Studio Pre-amp on the Mustang, right? If played at a reasonable level i shouldn't worry about damaging the speaker?

Hi frypot,

There should be no reason why you couldn't use the Fender Mustang III with your bass guitar. I do want to make you aware of the fact that although this is not a modeling bass amplifier, you might not get the same bass response as with the Fender Bronco40 (which is our Fender FUSE connected modeling bass amplifier). Please let us know if we can assist further.

The new Mustangs look great and I'm looking forward to trying one out. But (sorry Fender), Peavey's new VYPYR-2 amps feature 6 bass amp models.
