Can anyone comment on how accurate some of the amp models are? Specifically, the British 80's is supposed to sound like a Marshall JCM800 (if my research is accurate). Does anyone have both the Mustang Floor and the JCM and can comment on how close they sound?

For everything you get for your money, does it really matter that much?

I can't say I've even heard most of the amps the Mustang models, but when you get them set up how you like, they all sound good in their own different ways. The Twin Reverb is regarded as one of the most 'authentic', but personally, I don't like it.

I compared the Mustang's "British 60s" sound side-by-side with a (current model) VOX AC15 when I bought my amp. They didn't sound completely identical, but the Mustang is very close and certainly captures the 'essence' of the Vox sound.

(Of course, they might not have sounded identical because the Mustang model is based on a 1960s VOX AC30, not the current VOX AC15! I expect those two VOX models probably sound at least as different from each other as from the Mustang!)

For what you are getting for the $$? The Mustang amps are basically spot on! I find them VERY close to the original amps and have had a lot of them, But the sound you can get like example,,, Taking a Champ tone stack and going through 4X12's WOW! The possibilities are endless!!!!!
