I like the Mustang Floor Pedal. Something that could be useful would be an index of presets that can be used for songs or artists. For example preset N would sound good for Robert Cray, Smoking Gun or Preset Y works for SRV Pride and Joy.

Looking at presets from this perspective could help drive the development
toward useability.

I am not sure if this would violate any copyright laws (which may be why
this is not being done).

Thanks for reading

Hi zflyer,

Thanks so much for your input here. I want to make sure that I understand your concept here. So, rather than the current numbering system, you would prefer a letter-based ID for Presets. Is that correct? Please clarify when you have a moment, and I will be happy to pass this along to the right folks here for consideration.

Best Regards,

Alan

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your response. What I mean by index is in its most simplistic form is a way for a user to identify a sound configuration with a particular song or artist. This could be as simple as adding an index in the documentation or as complex as including references to it in the user interface on the pedal itself.

Fender has done some of this on the G-Dec amps. For example, there are Cashola and James Burton references.

Thanks for your reply.

I agree with the OP... on modeling units, I really enjoy presets that mime artist sounds and song sounds and love for them to be readily identifiable.

I know there are copyright considerations, however it is always easy to insinuate an artist or a popular song without actually using the name.

My other suggestion: We love presets... but since you have 100 presets in banks of five anyway, why not position the presets in a way that makes them usable... such as a metal clean preset next to a metal distorted that compliments it, or a Pink Floydish rhythm next to a Gilmourish lead preset? As the presets are configured on the MF, they are all over the place and not easily combinable for a song progression.

Hi Guys,

And thanks much for the clarification and additional input here. I will pass this along to the folks here. And if either of you like, please post a few Presets with the tones and titling that you are discussing here (as possible with the current display configuration).

Thanks much!

Best Regards,

Alan
