I apologize if this has been covered, but I have not seen it. I just ordered the Mustang V V.2, 4x12 cab, 4 button switch, and the EXP-1 expression pedal. I believe the 2 button switch comes with the head already (at least that's what musicians friend told me).

I'm trying to map out how I'm going to run all my cables from my gear to the head. I would like to use my slash wah, 2 different overdrive pedals, and a banshee talk box still. Obviously the 2 and 4 button switch pedals go into their specified places on the amp, but does the expression pedal get linked in with them somehow? Or do I run that through my chain of other pedals?

Again I haven't received it yet since Musicians friend does not have them in stock yet, so maybe this will make more sense when I do, but any advice you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
really i knew that
2 button switch pedal is included in Mustang 3 (also in my precedent M3 v.1 i found the 2 buttonswitch)
4 button switch pedal should be already included in Mustang 4 and 5..

you can connect just 2 Fender pedal in the same time.. 4 button switch + Exp 1 , because there is not a third input to connect all three pedals .. or 4 + 2...

You should order, if you need it, the 2 button switch pedal in the place of 4 button pedal..

Sorry I'm having a hard time understanding your reply...

So you are saying I can either have 3 combinations: 2 and 4 button switches, 2 button switch and exp-1, or 4 button switch and exp-1?

I actually called musicians friend and they told me that the 2 button switch would come with it, so I bought the 4 button switch. So that's pretty frustrating that I now will have to send that back.

Thanks

You can connect all three pedals at the same time: the MS-2, MS-4 and EXP-1. You connect the MS-2 to the "2 button footswitch" socket on the amp. You connect the EXP-1 to the "4 button footswitch" socket on the amp. You connect the MS-4 to the EXP-1, daisy-chain-style. The EXP-1 has an extra socket for this purpose.

I also thought the Mustang V (head) comes with the 4-button footswitch, as does the M-IV. It's the Mustang III that comes with the 2-button footswitch. Unless it's changed with the V2 amps?

For completeness, don't get a ULT-4 footswitch; it looks identical to the MS-4 but doesn't fully work with the Mustang amps, it's intended for a different amp.

Hey Tone
The M-V comes with:
MS-4 footswitch/cable
2- speaker cables
USB cable

The exp-1 will also have a cable. You will need to buy the MS-2 footswitch(cable inc.).
Sweetwater must of ditzed out on that info.

The set up for the Mustang pedals is:
2 button jack < MS-2
4 button jack < EXP-1 < MS-4 (chained)

As far as planning your other pedals the v2 pathway is this:

guitar input -> DSP "pre" effects -> DSP amp modelling -> FX LOOP -> DSP "post effects" -> ... rest of analogue stuff, power amp, etc

From here:

Scott beat me to it.

Hi,
very good. I didn't know about the extra socket on Exp-1.. it could be useful to get in a future all 3 pedals functionalities.. for now i'll buy just the 4 button pedal together with Mustang 3 V.2.

Thanks for all the great input everyone! I will have to call musicians friend and cancel that extra 4 button switch then. The guy didn't sound confident when I asked him what came with the amp. Im looking forward for it all to come!
