I have been searching online for a schematic for the Mustang 2 button footswitch, I would like to buy the parts and possibly build my own footswitch to save money but have no idea exactly what is inside the 2 button footswitch, I am thinking that it is a fairly simple circuit,. but I don't want to wire something wrong and possibly hurt my amp, I have the 4 button footswitch already so buying a 30$ 2 button switch isn't on the to do list, does anybody have a schematic or has anybody opened one up and willing to share the information of what exactly is going on inside the footswitch ? any help would be appreciated, just trying to save some money, I already bought the Mustang V head and it's a recession

You can get one for $20 on Amazon (Link  Amazon)

I'm thinking your time investment + parts would add up to more than $20. I guess it depends what your time is worth to you. Sorry, I have no idea about the schematics.

thanks for the reply, as long as it is what I think it is ( a couple switches and a jack) I can build one for about 8$ .. and the time wouldn't be an issue, now if there is a circuit board in there with resistors and things then I would have no choice but to buy one, I'm thinking it is a simple circuit but I may be wrong, just thought I would ask, if all it is is a couple switches and a jack then it would be worth it to me to save a few dollars and build my own

Yes, the two-button footswitch does contain just two switches and a jack. But it's a bit more complex than simple make/break switches. I doubt very much if Fender will publish the circuit details / spec of how it works. For the price, I agree with 'strings' - it's going to be a lot simpler just to buy the Fender switch.

Or you could try and find someone else willing to put in the time to reverse-engineer the behaviour from an existing switch - but the few beers you'd have to give them for doing that for you, would end up costing you more than just buying the switch...

cool, Thanks for the reply. If only I had one available to open and see what is going on and just copy the wiring, I'm not all that worried about it, It would be more of a novelty than anything else, I already have the 4 button switch, the only thing I wanted to use a 2button switch for was to switch the reverb on and off or maybe as a tap tempo, but other than that I can make do without it, so the price of the 2 button switch just isn't worth it to me considering that there is maybe 8$ worth of parts in it if all it contains is 2 switches and a jack, thanks again for taking the time to reply
