I have a Fender Mustang i, it's about 18 months old. Just recently it developed a kind of sick reverb type sound about 10 minutes after I turn it on.

This happens on all presets. Especially noticed on Clean Presets.

Anyone else have a similar problem? or know how to fix?

Cheers

S

Hi,

before you start receiving a ton of speculations I would recommend if you can post a sound sample.

Hi sumayo,

We will be happy to assist. Could you please describe the term "sick" in more exact detail, and we will be happy to assist further.

I made a couple of recordings of a clean tone.

The first (Fender a) is normal, the second (Fender b) is when the sound breaks down, after the Amp warms up; about 10 minutes.

I guess it's a throw away. Even though these are relatively cheap, and I was looking at upgrading I don't know if I will go with Fender if they just don't last.....

Are the other (more expensive) models more durable?

Is still under warranty? Even if its not, I'd call Fender and see if they can help. Never heard of this problem before. I'm sure its just an unfortunate and isolated problem with your amp.

Ok, try this link

http://snd.sc/Yw8LSe

The first part, is just after I turned the Amp on. The second part is ten minutes later, same preset same Guitar, pickup & settings.

mmm never heard anything similar. I do not know if it is possible, but I would try to force a firmware update, even if you have the latest already. If that does not correct it, I would ship it back to Fender.

Forced an update, no change. I will call the shop tomorrow, I don't recall how much warranty I have, it's 2 yrs old next month.

Thanks everyone for your help

Cheers

Hi sumayo,

It does sound like the amp may have a hardware issue. Please let us know if we can offer any additional assistance as you are getting the unit to a service center.

Best Regards,

The second clip sounds like very slow flanging. That is weird!
