I do not know if a Super Champ 1 has an effects loop.

If it does, and you want to use the amp and cab models of the MF and or the MF presets, plug the MF into the return which bypasses the preamp and plays the MF directly thru your power amp on the Champ. If it does not have an effects loop, but you still want to use the MF amp and cab models and presets, adjust the tone knobs on the super champ to get a good clean tone with as little frills as possible. Then plug the MF into the direct input and your guitar into the MF. Use the MF to make all tonal adjustments from that point.

Of course the MF can also be used as just a stompbox style effects unit. Just switch the MF to stompbox mode and plug directly into your Champ. You will then be adding MF effects to your Super Champ's natural tones without the MFs modeled amp/cabs.

No, the MF will not work thru your Champs line out or footswitch jack. If your Champ does not have an Effects Return jack, then you must plug the left unbalanced 1/4 inch output of the MF directly into the guitar 1/4 inch input jack on the amp. Plug your guitar into the 1/4 inch input on the MF. Turn both MF and amp on then play.

If you use the amp/cab models on the MF; they will be slightly distorted by the tone of your Champ pre-amp... that is why you want to get a good clean tone on your amp first and then run the MF through. If your amp is set on distortion or drive and you then run the MF through, it will sound like crap!
