Please read the official comment from Fender about the Fizz:

"We researched the issue and found that under certain combined conditions, using certain settings and playing techniques, an artifact can be produced in Mustang III, IV and V amplifiers."
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=59203

Apparently, for once, the official Fender statement coincides with my opinion :) The only thing I did was to list the "conditions" I think they talk about.

One would think that if only some units exhibit the issue, or only at some point in time they will like to do some damage control and minimize the fact, instead they aknowledge this happens on all M3-4-5 amps if the right condition appear.

Now in the other hand if the fizz thing is so bad, I wonder how the mustangs V1 got 4 and 5 stars on every single review I can find... maybe because only some certain people under certain conditions can hear it mmmmm

But I do not want to offend no one, please believe what you want and just disregard my comments. It is very possible the V2 are better in every respect than V1, that is, unless some other fizz-like flaw appears down the road with the new and untested platform (like all the firmware failures of V2 units that popped up recently on the forum:"For Fender Mustang V.2 owners, please skip the firmware update on these products for the moment. We will update this post once we get this issue corrected. We appreciate your patience.")

I for one just sold my M3 and just kept my Floor but will not buy another Mustang until I see they got it right this second time, or at least as well as the first time.

Well, that's a shame. I was hoping you'd do a side-by side comparison since your analyses are always top notch and very interesting.

I won't be getting a V.2 since I've lost all confidence in Fender after the way they handled the fizz fiasco. I don't want an amp from a company that won't do anything for its customers who are dissatisfied because of an acknowledged issue that crops up after the return period has expired. I went to an authorized Fender Service Center in 2011 and Fender told them to give me back my amp and send me home. Huh... I would have expected an offer of a refund or at least full value toward another Fender product. But no, they offered nothing. Nothing at all. Totally classless IMHO.

Anyway my MIII v.1 has been relegated to practice amp at home, to cut down on wear-and-tear on the tubes in my non-Fender tube amp. I originally bought it as a backup amp, and there it shall remain.

Its difficult to determine conditions when they say its how a guitarist plays. No one plays exactly like another.

Definitely understandable.

Thanks for the compliments. I sold the M3 because I got almost shelf price for it, so I let it go.
Indeed I was looking today for a decent powered cabinet for my mustang floor and I found that they cost pretty much the same as a Mustang 3!
So in the end, if the V2 work fine, in a couple months I could give it a shot (once and if all the defects are ironed out) and then I can do an A/B with the M Floor and the V2's. I have the suspicion the V2 are just mustang floors in disguise (which is not bad in itself as the floor is an excellent product) but can not confirm or deny it without a side by side comparison (unless somebody else does it, which is the initial purpose of this thread I think)

In the meantime I have no excuse but to go back to practice those tricky jazz chords that I have been avoiding for the last couple of months :)
