Finally got it, how I got it was a long story, BUT the meat: NO FIZZ!!!, there is a lot of very usable presets In my Opinion. Tweakers dream. The sound of the 57 twin is nice, I heard what I thought was an issue, BUT, it was the gain on the amp. lowered in fuse and Humbuckers sound better. Single PUPs are VERY Nice. I really think,, IF you need a new amp, clean, or can afford one of these, Get the V2. I notice I like the tolex, and new design, BUT that don't make the amp. The sounds to me are better than what I heard before. And with tweaking,(which I really need to do all over again) this amp is easily worth it, and a keeper. Still got the GC 3 year pro coverage. The tests were done with hums and single Seymour duncan JB/Jazz Pups with coil split. No problem on OD, Heavy sounds and the cleans really do sparkle. It was the first hour, and I am tired, I will add to this post after using the Grestch with TV Jones. I tried many different options but the gain Thing (which is normal) was the only noise I hear except from the Single coil noise from my lights. But yeah The amp was worth it. Got it for $280 and I wish everyone who gets one, has the same experience. Thanks, Mark

I'm glad you like the sound of the new amp and that the fizz is gone.
May I ask how you got the reduction from 329$ to 280$, that sounds like a big discount.

It is on their site for $329, And When I called the order in, there was a promotion, With GC IF there is a promotion yo get money back. So there was $50 taken off. There is a promo now for 15% off. If yo did not receive the amp, you can call and get it. GC is great for that. My Grestch Setzer Sig, I got for a little less than the price of a Setzer Hot Rod. You gotta watch the promos and call them on it.
And yes the added stuff and cosmetics are nice for me. I just wanted the clean sounds that I now have. Seems also like the power switch was vertical 9If I remember correctly) and now it is Horizontal. In my situation, the amp is on a stand next to PC and I do all my tweaking and setting on fuse, and it works flawlessly. This is the amp they should have put out to begin with. If anyone needs any help I am available. Thanks Mark
Also, No sense in any You toob demos, since the camera does not show what this amp sounds like.

Ah, you mean "honest and informed" I believe. Important to get our semantics in line. I really love my carbon fiber and wouldn't want to go backwards to retro black tolex, but I'm most interested in one phrase from mak:

The sounds to me are better than what I heard before.

It's the same issue that Line 6 opened up with the new James Tyler Variax series featuring a new chip: does the new DSP make ALL the sounds better?? The jury is still out on the Variax--Line 6 said it's the same modeling software just as Fender has stated as well.

A very interesting proposition which we're just beginning to explore. I could care less about a few new models or EFX, but if all the V.2 models are sonically improved, well that's something to perk us all up, isn't it?

. You are right. I went right for clean sounds on the bassman, 65 Deluxe, and yes they are easily better. That is where I had my fizz. The effects? Ehh, Not much else for me but reverb and tape delay. But with my Seymour Duncan equipped Humbuckers, Man the presets are not too bad! I was surprised and still am, Just got home, and going to mess with it, But It was a good upgrade, Except for the Tolex for you guys who liked the C,Fiber. Did not matter to me.

Well if it turns out the V.2s are not just fizz-free, but quieter overall, and all the cleans sound better, the hell with the Tolex, they may be worth the upgrade!

When I play, i am sitting right in front of her, She has really nice cleans, using the 57 twin and by changing cabs in fuse, you can really make it nice. YES Sir! the cleans are the way Fender should have done it in the first place. This thngs screams fender Classic cleans! And again, from where I sit, the amp covering is not even an issue. The Orange is also nice, no need for added effects the drive is killer. And Oh I forgot there is a c baritone clean preset that freakin' rocks!!!

Gonna test the amp with the TV Jones Pups, They are much brighter than any combo of the duncans, so more tweaking..

Hi mak1965,
i'm in some sense relieved to hear that the quality of sounds is better than the precedent version and most important there is not fizz: until now we could only make hypothesis.

have you already try some preset with Gilmour sounds for example Pigs can fly? apart from the demo on youtube that seems to be ok, i would like to know how is actually playing the HIWATT model and Bigmuff
and what kind of distortion do you think could be the "black box" stompbox? can be an emulation of Boss Metal Zone or rather a vintage overdrive or fuzz model?

Here in Italy i have to wait for 1 or 2 more weeks because one of the two big musical stores in my region, that a friend suggested me for the best price , sells the Mustang 3 v.2 at 299 € but i think they can do better and i don't like their "excuse" that more less says << i can understand you are unemployed but you're not buying a 2500 € amp (to ask addittional discount)..>>. On the other hand, a simple "old style" musical shop (mainly specialised in pianos, and absolutely not a big store) is able to offer it at 275 € even thought is too far from my region to go by car and give a try as i prefer ..

So i think to wait the offer of the second and usual big store in my region that also has the policy to claim usually the lowest price in Italy .. that means, if you find a lower price on line you can report them and they'll try to satisfy you as far as possible.

In reality, what complicates matters in this case is, my usual big store has still for sale an old version Mustang 3.. and offers it right for 275€. they are willing to order the new one but i don't know what they'll decide about the final price. I hope we can find a good agreement and i will not give the victory to the other in any case. It's a matter of principle.
I apologize for the little outburst but I felt slightly teased and i'm looking forward to have the new amp.

Dimitri

Sounds great !!! I'm on the waiting list at Sweetwater , I hope they call soon!! You have me excited now. I also couldn't care less about the tolex, as long as it sounds good.

The Pigs can fly pre is actually pretty nice! I am sure you will get much use if you are a PF Fan. and again, with this amp comes Tweaking. even on the presets. That is my Experience for over 10 yrs with Modelling amps. and Now with the Fuse Software, it's so much easier and way better. being able to change cabs and even turn the cab model off is a million dollar feature to me. The blackbox is a Rat Distortion. While I am not very fond of much beyong the Fender Reverb, and tape delay, the effects lineup is great. The got a Big Muff. Makes that Violin sound!!! The c baritone clean has its quirks but very usable.Out of 100 presets I went through them all , yeah there are a few horrible ones, For me! Maybe you would find them nice! I think they covered all the bases, and First off, Since the Fizz is gone, Now comes your tweaking. IF this is your first Modelling amp. It WILL take you a while to get up to speed with it. Get a stand, put it in front of you, so you can hear all the nuances of this amp. I promise and guarantee that you will like it. But don't get frustrated when you have different Pups and guitars and they all sound different through the same preset! Thats normal. Just have fun with it!
Main thing is that the fizz is history!

What am I seeing here?

Are you still inclined to fork out even more money to the company that you consider the root of all evil..? After all the thousands of e-mails YOU read and wrote in countless forums and boards all over the world? After your "Don Quijotesque" crusade blanding the spade against "Fizzgate"?

You call yourself "informed and HONEST"?

Oh, the irony...

LtKojak,
everyone is entitled to a second chance , in my opinion, including Fender.
I was also angry with Fender because of the old defective version1 (even the second replacement amp was fizzy) but at the end the easiest solution to me was to sell the mustang3 v.1 to more easily buy the new version as soon as possible.

Ciao
Dimitri

Dimitri, I own a M-Floor, and I just can't wait to get a v. 2.0 version, if they ever make one! I've owned a MII and a fizz-free MIII as well because they do exist.

The post you quoted was directed to Musicmaster2, who's been on my case just because I dared to have a different opinion than his.

HTH,
