I recently bought a mustang I/II and downloaded Fender FUSE. While updating the firmware for my amp, it was turned off and after turning it back on it has done nothing but blink the "SAVE" button at me. I assumed this was still update mode, but FUSE wouldnt open up any more and after uninstalling and reinstalling it wouldnt get past a third of an inch on the updating bar and the amp is still blinking. I've tried turning the amp on while holding "EXIT" to restore it to factory settings but it didn't even start to reset, it just blinked "SAVE" at me. I have a warranty so I'm not overly concerned, but I would like to be able to use it sooner rather than later. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi njuhlart,

We will be happy to assist. It sounds like your amp is stuck in "boot mode". If you are on a PC and Fender FUSE is unresponsive, We recommend accessing the Task Manager by clicking CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and check to see if yo have any Processes running with the title "FUSE" (FUSELauncher or FUSEServer) . If any of these processes are still running, you should select them and click end process. Now you should be able to launch Fender FUSE. We would recommend that you try to perform a firmware update (you might need to try this step more than once), to see if it will help solve the issue you are experiencing. If you are unsuccessful with these steps, we recommend that you temporarily downgrade to the previous version of Fender FUSE (please see link below) and try to update firmware from that build. Please let us know how it goes and if we can assist further.

Fender FUSE 2.6.1.45 Windows:

I'm having the same problem... It's not the application,it's the amp causing me problems..

I'm new to this forum. Just purchased a Mustang III V2 on March 8, 2013 and I had
the exact same problem:

1.) Downloaded and installed latest version of FUSE on my desktop machine.
2.) Hooked up amp via USB, was prompted to update firmware.
3.) Firmware update "hung" in FUSE, progress bar just stopped at about 30%
4.) Had no choice but to abort firmware update.

After that, the amp was "stuck" with a flashing Save button. Could do nothing
with the amp and a factory reset did nothing.

The only solution I could find was in another topic and I wanted to post that
here as well: I had to install FUSE on another computer (in my case I had a
laptop as well as my desktop). From my laptop I was lucky enough to get
through the firmware update.

A few things:
I am really happy with this amp and just love it. I am very computer "literate"
(I'm a software developer by trade). I can accept occasional software issues
and understand completely that these things happen.

What I cannot accept is that a factory reset would not restore the amp to at
least a workable state. There is just no reason for that at all. This issue
really needs to be fixed ASAP since I see that a lot of people are having the
same experience. I had the amp for 1 hour and it was already useless. Since I
bought it on the weekend there would be no phone support until a weekday. The
solution is also not acceptable. Many people may not have another computer to
try, and I need to ask: how is this being handled in cases where nothing works?
Are you having your customers just return the amp at that point? Trial and
error is not a solution!

Ok, other than that rant... this amp is simply awesome!

Thank you!

Hi ScaryTone,

Thanks for taking the time to post about your experience here. We very much appreciate it. And our apologies for the inconvenience. We are actually looking at an issue that a small number of consumers are reporting regarding the firmware update function related to our most recent v2.7.0 Fender FUSE release. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

In the mean time, we do have a v2.6.1 build of the software that can serve as a temporary work around for the issue. We will be adding information to the Forums shortly. However, I realize that you have already used a second PC to resolve the issue on your end. Again, we really appreciate you sharing your feedback. I will be sure that this information gets passed to the right folks here.

Best Regards,

Alan

Thanks for the response Alan! FYI, I did see that there was previous post in this thread with a link to download v2.6.1.45, but I could not access the ink: it appears to be broken. I take it we should ignore that one and wait for the new information?

Hi ScaryTone,

Thanks for your reply. The link in the Fender FUSE Forum post should be functioning. In any case, I will be adding an announcement on the Forum today regarding this. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,
