I have an idea that I don't know if it is safe. I want to connect a microphone to my laptop and than connect the laptop to the aux jack of my fender mustang II amp and let the sound from the microphone come out of the amp. Is there any danger of damaging the amps speaker if I use it this way? I know this isn't what the amp is designed to do but is it possible and safe to do it? Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

If you connect the 'line out' or 'headphones out' of your PC to the 'aux in' of your amp, then no, you won't damage the amp. The amp's 'aux in' is designed to take exactly this type of signal.

However, as others have noted on this forum, you won't get particularly hi-fi reproduction of the sound (in this case, the microphone sound) coming from your PC. The Mustang is a guitar amp, with a guitar amp speaker, and is designed principally to provide amplification and tone colouration for a guitar's sound.

So, if you want to use the Mustang as a high-quality PA, you might be disappointed. If you just want to use it as a convenience, to have all your sounds amplified and coming out of the same speaker, then it will work great: that is exactly what it the aux-in is designed for.

My guess is that you're using the laptop just as a microphone pre-amp (as the mic signal on its own is too low to plug into the aux-in). There's nothing wrong with that, and if the laptop is handy it's a convenient solution. If you ever want to do this in a situation where you don't have a computer nearby, you might also want to consider a dedicated microphone pre-amp. You can connect your mic to that, then take the output of the pre-amp and plug into the amp's aux-in.

You are spot on about what I want to do, and I hope that you are right about not damaging the speaker :)

One further suggestion: start with your PC sound volume turned down low. Then turn it up until the signal coming through your Mustang from the PC (via aux in) is at the level you want (compared to the volume of the guitar signal, amp master volume etc - set those first, before adding in the mic sound).
