Yes , of course!
i also hope i am wrong. for example, it could be important to hear the sound from speaker when you are recording by external soundcard , if you want get natural feedback and sustain..

Hi,
i was thinking... if i would need to use sometimes, the new Mustang 3 V.2 (i don't have it yet) like a simple power amp for my Roland GR55 pedalboard.. based on the path posted some days ago, i should : connect the output of GR55 to Return of Mustang;
disable post effects and disable cab simulation on a clean low gain (to avoid extra noise or hiss) preset selected e.g. Studio preamp.. because as we know , GR55 is not just a guitar synth but includes also guitar/instruments modelling , amp/cab (and stomps) modelling + multieffects... and it would be useful to be able to use some amp models not included in the Mustang..
at that point i could control the power output to Celestion speaker by volume Master on Mustang...
Is that correct?

thanks

you can do all that or.. simply connect to the aux-in on the M3 and you are done!

Hi,
thanks.
i think to connect an mp3 player is good also aux-in but for a pedalboard i prefer take advantage on more solid connection jack to jack by quality shielded cable.. without additional adapters...

Hey Jedi2b,
as said in the private message, i just received from Fender TSL the email confirmations about some doubts i had...
So here's the official answer to our doubt about XLR outputs and possible muting of speaker signal:
... drum roll please! ... :?:

No: Connect XLR outputs will not silence the speaker signal!

so we can get feedback and sustain also during multitrack recording.

thank goodness!

(did you like the joke in the private message? )

Dimitri

now, tell me that the change of carbon fiber covering by the ugly tolex was a joke too, that the amp I ordered will have the carbon fiber covering, and you will make my day.

I know we are talking aesthetics here, but honestly, take a look at the two pictures here:
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=84954

My guess is that they used the cheap covering to help pay for the XLR connectors... I<m ready to sacrifice my XLR connectors for the covering any day, but apparently that is not an option

In the other hand, why they changed the FONT on the faceplate for the ugly new one is a mistery to me, it looks like the Commodore 64 font :?:

Hi,
new font on the amp is a bit futuristic and is not my favourite too but i think we can get used to it ..

by the way... the font used in Fender Fuse display of effect parameters on my opinion is a little difficult to read particularly the digits .. i know it simulates an lcd display but perhaps would be better choose a more readable font / larger font size.

i would suggest also to activate the parameters display window for all the rest of advanced parameters knobs.. to set them accurately.
noise gate parameters, bias , blend, master volume, usb gain.. and perhaps i'm a little fussy but to complete the update, it would be nice that display window also when you move the main amp parameters or knobs.. treble, bass, mid, etc..

Wednesday I received a msg. from Fender that a Beta firmware was released
enabling the user to select in which manner the fx loop is placed.

Normal - new setting version 2
Looper - allows proper use of a looper.

So I contacted Feedback Music Rotterdam and informed them with the new firmware I would be able to use my Boss Rc-300 loopstation correctly, and benefit of the new features in the version 2.

They agreed that I could change my V1 for the v2, perfect after sales. :)

I can confirm my looper works perfectly.

Even though it has been quite an adventure, I would like to take this opportunity
to thank Fender USA for releasing this new Beta firmware.

Mustang III great amp.

Hi,
what is the right setting of normal/looper FX loop paths to connect an external pedalboard (guitar synth) to "return" and get a flat response ?
To test all possibilities i set the "normal" option but unespectedly i can hear a certain amount of noise and hiss even if i'm using a mustang low gain amp ('57 twin with cab simulation off) ..
if i set the looper option all become quiet but i'm not sure what output setting i have to choose on my Roland GR55 ... there are many settings to get the right equalization for a specific device .. in precedent Mustang 3 v.1 i think i selected "Combo Return".. i don't think to have selected "line/ headphones"
if i choose in V.2 menu, "looper" do i get the same final path power amp + Celestion speaker as in the precedent v.1?

thanks
Dimitri

Hi

If you select Looper mode, the fx-return goes directly to the power amp of the mustang, (like V1 behaviour) converting the mustang in a powered monitor (and mutting any signal comming from the instrument input and emulation path at the same time)
