So I just bought a Mustang III on Friday. I hooked it up to my computer and it told me to update the firmware. I connected and accidentally unconnected in mid update. Now I can't get it to do anything. When I turn off and on the amplifier, the "save" button continuously flashes and the screen is blank. Please help me!!!! I'm freaking out!

Anyone? I really have no clue what to do. I've searched the net and can't find anything. Really appreciate any advice that can be given.

ok so you haven't made any changes to any settings? You can do the factory reset, but it will wipe out any changes you made to presets so if you don't have a backup, you'd lose them. If you haven't made any changes, I'd definitely try the factory reset:

From the advanced manual:

"To restore the Mustang amplifier to factory settings:

1. Turn the amplifier OFF.
2. Press and hold the EXIT button while turning the amplifier ON. Continue holding the EXIT button until it is no longer illuminated.

The FACTORY RESTORE function will erase all user modified presets.

That doesn't work for me. If I turn off the amp, place my finger on the "exit" button and turn the amp back on, the "save" light immediately starts flashing again. The "exit" light never lights up and the "save" button doesn't stop blinking. Nothing on the screen either. Thanks for the advice but unfortunately that did not fix my problem. Anyone else?

I tried calling and, of course, they're closed today. In the meantime I'm freaking out. Will definitely call in the morning if I haven't resolved this yet. Just stressed and hoping someone could help me resolve this tonight. Thanks for taking the time to try.

stuck in update mode, not sure how to 'unstick' it. Did you remove the USB cable and try the factory reset, or was it still attached? And are you on a Mac?

After a few hours of sweat and anguish, I found the solution. :)

I saw mentioned a similar issue on another thread about the Mustang Amp, and the solution was disconnect all the USB devices from the iMac, even though they're off.

I did it several times without success until I thought about the firewire port (used for my sound card), which must be disconnected as well. And voilá! Firmware updated, Mustang Floor resurrected, and relax. :D

Anyway, I think this bug must be fixed. I don't know if it is Fuse's problem, Mustang's problem, or iMac's problem, but the bug is there. :?

Thanks for all the information. I have disconnected the USB from the amp and the computer multiple times. Also on a windows based computer. SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

try doing the same exact procedure you used to run the update via fuse the first time, one of those threads said they had to run the update over and over a few times and it eventually completed. Otherwise, you'd have to wait til tomorrow, or some more help to come along before then, I'm out of ideas. :(

any luck with phone support, Fitzzy72? Would be good if you could post the resolution to the problem here for future reference.
