Hi all,

Long time lurking M3 owner here. Looking to venture into the external pedal world to be used with my M3.

Wondering how I would hook up a pedal or pedals to the M3 where the onboard M3 effects would be bypassed.

Would my guitar to to the front input of the amp, and the inputs/outputs of the external pedals to the effects send/receive ports on the back?

TIA all. Just getting back into guitar and this is my first modeling amp.

I'm no tech but Ithink you could run pedels any way you like. On a tube amp I like to add pedels before the gain stage but on ss amps I don't think it makes any difference. As for killing the effects just turn them off with the buttons(amp, stomp, mod, delay, reverb). Once you've turned them off just dial in your sound like on any amp. Hope someone with more knowledge will add or correct me. have fun.

Effects like those in the Mustang's Stomp section generally go in front.
Effects similar to the effects in the Mod, Delay, and Reverb sections usually go in the loop in the back panel.
This is the "normal" way to do it.
Think of it as being in a recording studio.
After you create a basic tone with distortion and overdrives into the front of the amp, then you mike the speaker. Effects like reverb, modualtion, and delay are added at the board, mostly because you normally don't "print wet". That is, you wouldn't record with lots of effects, because once you "print" the track, you can't change the effects.
But, hey, why be normal?

Great stuff, thanks guys! First pedals I'll be playing around with are a delay pedal on its way and also a ModTone Deep Dive octave pedal on backorder. From there, I'll probably be picking up a CryBaby.
