I am tearing my hair out trying to use my amp through Fender Fuse on my Windows 7 based laptop.

I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the latest (todays) version of Fuse.

I have connected my Mustang iii (v2) to my laptop, it has detected it appropriately and installed the drivers. I have uninstalled all the drivers and gone through this again, twice. Each time the Mustang appears in my device manager with all of the drivers in place and declaring it is functioning correctly.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight 5 and then reinstalled Fuse..... but

No matter what I do Fuse still opens and declares "No Amplifier Connected".

I am going crazy trying to get this working. What am I missing?

i was checking the other day the fuse forum and apparently many people is having trouble with the v2 amps and fuse, you may want to take a look over there to see if they got a workaround

What the world really wants to know is: does it fizz?

As far as I can tell so far, she fizzes not. In fact, she sounds absolutely bloody epic.

as a test for your fellow v1'rs, could youe please upload any preset you can quickly create using fuse alone (i realize you cant' connect your amp yet) using the british colour amp model? I'm curious to see what would be the behaviour of hte v1 amps with unsuported amp models.

Thanks!

According to the local 'experts', "the fizz can occur at any time, even years down the line after the warranty expires, or it could be present upon purchase". What makes you think this would be any different?

I think the 'experts' should stay away from the Mustang V2's. Because a Mustang Amp is like a box of chocolates, right? :|

I for one do not think the fizz can happen years from now, in fact I have never find so far a mustang 3-4-5 (v1) amp that does not fizz trying the following preset (nor I have had any feeback of anybody telling that their amp do not fizz with these settings)

So if any V2 owner wants to give it a try to see if the fizz is present on v2 here I come again:

On your guitar
-select your bridge pickup, preferably a humbucker in this case
-put guitar volume at 10 or max
-lower tone of the bridge pickup to 1 or min

On your M3-4-5
-Select preset 92 (basic deluxe 65)
-lower treble to minimum
-lower mid to minimum
-increase bass to maximum
-put master volume to around 2.5

Now, on your guitar, fret the 12th fret 6th string and gently pluck the the 6th string with the tip of two fingers, if you do it very hard it could mask the fizz, as the fizz is usually 3dB lower than the actual guitar sound

I was just looking for PITA's "empty" preset (which I somehow lost) when the page choked and gave me a 404. When I logged back in, the format of the page had changed and there is a new catagory - "Compatibility" and it seems all the V1 presets are compatible with the V2 amps. So, we'll know soon enough.

With the new page format, Fender is probably getting ready to post the default V2 presets pretty soon.

Very good question, if perhaps phrased too politely. New amp requires a new operating system to operate fully? Is Microsoft involved in FMIC too? Or is it all just one big corporate clusterfuq where a wink and a nod from one corporate mountain top to the next to help each others bottom line by making unwanted products required. I have XP because I think the other MS OS's are just more control for the Corpse and more for the bottom line. XP is an excellent OS. Its planned obsolescence did not work so well with those who do not chase after each new and shiny thing. A shareholders worst nightmare. So the new Fuse software comes out and attempts to make XP a liability. This is either by design or incompetence. Nice choices, eh?

Once again, fuse software stinks of mediocre design. How about letting some real geeks write the code instead of some execs relative?

What the...

I still run XP. In fact, XP is run on at least 40% of the PCs world wide. That's more than any other single version of Windows.

Way to alienate a large portion of the customer base in one fell swoop. You think people were PO'd at FIZZ?

What brilliant 12 year old is in charge at Fender?

All my computers use Windows XP and I'm certainly not buying new ones yet just to use Fender Fuse. It's pretty clear where this is going. Next you'll need a Facebook account to download firmware upgrades. The computer industry is becoming the next drug cartel.
