In case anybody wants to try it, there's a new version of fuse (2.7)

Technology Support Lab note: (Hi jedi2b. As we are very close to releasing a public build of the Fender FUSE software that adds support for the new Fender® Mustang™ (V.2) amps, we have removed the link you placed here earlier. We will make a build available ASAP. Thanks much.)

Regards,

Interesting! Has this been announced by Fender yet? (I haven't seen any posts from them, but maybe I missed it...). Do you know what's different/new in this version?

It supports V2. I installed it on a test machine, and when you start it for the first time it asks what amp you have (mustang, mustang V2, bronco...). I choose V2 just to see what I'll be missing :) Studio preamp, 60s Trift, Brittish Watts, British colour + Ranger boost, Diatonic pitch shifter,Greenbox, Orangebox and Big Fuzz.

I can't see what firmware version is bundled...

bundled firmware for Mustang v1 and floor is the old one. I can see nothing new in fuse itself except support for V2

I just tried the 2.7 version. I have a M II v1 with firmware 1.10 and here is what happens when I start Fuse:

- Usual "Loading. Please Wait..." page
- It gets past the loading page and the window goes black with an info window in the center titled "Syncing" with a progress bar and text reading "Syncing with your amplifier." - after 5 min. there was no change.

However, I happened to start FUSE again while it was still running (doh!) and after a few seconds the screen blinked FUSE came up, the "Syncing" window flashed and it found the amp. Go figure.

I didn't see any other obvious changes as compared to the beta so, it's a sure bet that the reason for no official release is that it is not quite ready for prime time.

Nothing else to to see here... move along :D

I ran it this morning, nothing out of the ordinary with the installation, also doesn't look and different.

For me the 2.7 release does a big difference to the 2.6.135 beta: It runs without complaint on my both laptops!! But time will tell - also the beta has been running a few weeks until from a certain day on nothing worked no more "Fuse Launcher break down bla bla bla ...".

I think I found one little difference - but I am not sure if it has been there before: There's a new menu under "Help" called "download update". But don't do it, it leads to a an "update" down to release 2.6.025 ;)

Anyway - I can start using Fuse again, and thats good news.
