Hi

After a few problems and help from the support teams I have now got my Fender fuse up and running for my Mustang 1 and its awesome, I also seem to have my Ableton live lite sorted which I am learning how to use. my question is the amplitube package that comes with the amp...does the amp work as the interface as I just get feedback and on the amplitube screen its asking me to register a serial number for product authorisation does that mean the amp as its not a compatible serial number or do I need to buy a stealth plug or pedal or something ?

any advice appreciated

Regards

Bob

you can redeem your serial numbers for the software in fuse.fender.com

AmpliTube is its own Amp modeller software package. To use THAT properly, you'd want a CLEAN guitar signal. The Fender Mustang at this time has no clean input. The Mustang always emulates an amp, so it will - no matter what - alter or color your guitar signal somewhat. Honestly, you don't need AmpliTube to use your Mustang at all. I never use the two together.

Although me getting my Fender Mustang II is what introduced me to AmpliTube. Since then, I've learned that IK Multimedia made it and has their own full-blown version of the software, called AmpliTube 3.9 FREE. It should come with their "Custom Shop" software package, which I have. I also have spent a good $200 in amp models and cabinets and other stuff from their Custom Shop.

And I use a Rocksmith USB Guitar Cable as my input to AmpliTube using ASIO as my driver. VERY nice. I could use this for recording OR live jams (if I wanted to haul my computer and hook the audio line out directly to a PA system).

seems to contradict

Yes I have registered

So in case something's been missed, here's everything you have to do:
- Create an account at fuse.fender.com
- Register your amp under your account at fuse.fender.com
- Obtain the software serial numbers for your fuse account, see viewtopic.php?f=27&t=44602
- Use this serial number on the amplitube screen where it's asking you to register a serial number

I have done all the registering eventually but I just get a screen saying you must connect with a stealth pug, a stealth pedal or some box,if I have my guitar in my mustang then the mustang connected to the computer and then I open the amplitube screen I just get feed back so I take it the amp does not interface with amplitube and I will have to buy one of the stealth products ??

thanks for the input

The amp does work with amplitube - in the sense that the Mustang's USB connection will function as an audio source for Amplitube.

You shouldn't need any "stealth plug" etc. One thought - perhaps there are versions of Amplitube that are licensed via a hardware dongle rather than (or as well as) a serial number. Are you using the version of Amplitube that came on the CD/DVD with your amp, or from the download location that Fender provide for Amplitube? Or have you obtained Amplitube from some other location?

It's possible (just trying ideas, don't know for certain), that the serial number you got from your FUSE account only works with a Fender-specific version of Amplitube - if you have a different version, it may not like the serial number and be looking for some other authorisation.

I just get feed back

Can you expand on this? How are you listening to the sound from the PC - eg through headphones, through speakers attached to PC, etc? Is it possible you really are getting genuine feedback - ie the sound output from the PC is feeding back to the guitar, into your amp and thus via USB back into Amplitube? Do you still get the sound if you turn all volume controls on the guitar and amp down to zero (which obviously isn't a solution - it's a test to eliminate the possibility of that feedback loop).

Finally, I'm guessing you have the ASIO driver installed and working, as you're able to use Ableton. Does Amplitube correctly recognise this driver for the Mustang amp and let you select it as an input source? If you select a different input source (again, this is a test, not a suggested solution), do you still get the feedback noise or not? That is, I'm wondering if the feedback is specific to the Mustang connection to Amplitube, or is something within Amplitube itself.

And very finally - what type of computer (PC, Mac) and O/S version do you have?

hi thanks again all for your time, I am away on holiday untill the weekend so not on my own lap top, but a bit more info - I am not that technical with software but I have the fender fuse working perfectly and can change amp settings and download band tracks that play through the built in speaker on my lap top, (I am on windows 7).Ableton lite is very complicated but I did get it working and playing sample drum beats etc but it seems muted now so I think I may have changed a setting my plan is to go through the tutorials when I have the time but it did initially play through the computer. Amplitube - I can`t recall if I downloaded off the net or CD I have just been following the prompt messages, I did start with the CD but maybe updated it when asked...if I open the amplitube screen I just get high frequency feed back through the built in lap top speakers if the amp is connected or not connected and in front of the main screen is a message saying I need to use a stealth plug/peadal/box
I wonder if I downloaded the wrong one is there and SE or FL or something like that ?
not sure about asio drivers but the other software works of (fuse ableton
thanks again

Bob
