Hi,

I would like to know if someone manages Guitar Rig via Fender Mustang Floor's MIDI channel. May you help me? What do I have to do?

Best Regards.

Alex.

I cannot get MIDI signals when I put Fender Mustang Floor in Preset Mode.
Selected the learn mode for a generic command of Guitar Rig, no cc# value is got.
Why? Is it correct to put Fender Mustang Floor in Preset Mode for use its MIDI signals?

Tnaks in advance.

Alex.

Another thing to consider when troubleshooting this: are you certain the MIDI cable/adapter you're using between the M-Floor and your PC is correctly sending all the MIDI signals? Do you have any other (known working) MIDI device you can connect the M-Floor to, to confirm whether it is outputting MIDI data? Or another device that sends MIDI signals, that you can connect via the same cable/adapter to your PC, to see if Guitar Rig can see the MIDI signals from that?

MIDI cable works fine: if I put Fender Mustang Floor in FX Select mode and Guitar Rig in learn mode, I get the values cc# from 24 to 26 from effects buttons but it doesn't work.

If I associate for example previous/next preset for Guitar Rig to two effect buttons it works just one time, forward and backward, and then nothing, Guitar Rig losts MIDI associations.

Probably I have to put fender Mustang Floor in Preset Mode, don't I?

Best Regards.

Alex.

That was pretty helpful thread. Same one I was going to suggest.

Hi Marziali,

When in fx select mode, the mustang floor send MIDI control changes when a button is pressed.

midi control changes are similar to midi notes in the sense that there are ON messages and OFF messages, as when you press down a keyboard key = ON and when you release = OFF

Some midi controllers, among them the mustang floor, do send the ON message when a control change button is pressed, but never send the OFF message when the button is released, this causes a lot of trouble as many applications keep waiting the off message that never arrives and will not react to a second consecutive ON message (another button press)

it would be cool if this gets corrected on the floor firmware but frankly don't hold your breath, as Fender is not very responsive to say the least to users requests.

If you do configure the mustang floor in the preset select mode, now it sends MIDI program change messages, that have no concept of ON/OFF so this might work better with your software as in this case it will recognize several consecutive presses of the same button.

I had the same frustration using the floor as a looper control an this was the only workaround I could come up with.

hope this helps.
