Is there any benefit to using the Effects Loop ( send & return ) on the Mustang III since it is a solid state amp and not a tube amp……………………I always understood that the reason for the effects loop was to allow you to insert effects between the preamp and power amp stages of your amplifier. Since the Mustang Series has no tubes, what would be the benefit?

I find the FX-loop quite useful

In the M3-4-5, the effect loop is the perfect spot to include the following:

-loopers
-a DI box or similar connection
-if you have any delay, reverb pedal this would be the spot to use it

Other use of the fx-send is as a line out more robust than the phones out connector, and non-variable level, contrary to the phones out. In my case I connect the fx-send to bass amp intrument input and it sounds incredible

Other use of the fx-return is to use the M3-4 as a powered monitor, for any other multieffects (including amplitube and the like)

For any distortion, compressor pedal you might have simply connect it on the regular imput

In the case of the mustang floor, the loop is BEFORE everything, so is not really good for anything... except maybe as a signal splitter: I connected the fx-send on the floor to the guitar input on my M3 and I get two effects from a single guitar signal
