Hi all,

This is my first shot at high gain emulation.

For it took as model a couple of Orange interesting amps: Tiny Terror and Dark Terror. I mean their name is cool enough to give them a try.

I based my setup in some you tube examples I found. Both presets try to emulate the orange amps with half gain, half tone and half volume.

I saw some other people trying to emulate oranges with the Metal2000 and American90 but I took a completelly different direction. If you want to know more , download and try them out... :P

Any feedback would be appreciated as I would like to improve on those two. Please take into consideration I use a strat with bridge humbuckers for my testing.

Not bad. Thanks for posting these. I like the sound you got with the dark terror preset.

The prior Orange presets weren't bad either. Whoever did the Orange Stack did really good job with it.

Thanks for the comments.

Any idea what need to be improved to get closer to the real ones?

Hard to put into words. Also, since I am referencing the amplitube orange amp emulations through my stereo system as opposed to the amp speaker, tone color is going to be a little different. I've played acoustic for years, but am new to electric, so I am not literate in the finer points of amplification and tone shaping.

I really like the "orange" presets you made, and they are occupying a permanent space in my amp memory. I'll try to play around with them some more, and see if I can match them to what my ear thinks they should be (this is really subjective, of course), but you came really close, and I appreciate you sharing them with us.

My own early efforts were not nearly as successful as yours.

Thanks Jeff,

consider this a joint effort :) I think that is the whole idea of preset exchange anyway..

I'm new to high gain so this may sound silly, but I think that the supersonic amp emulation is more tweakable than the american 90 or metal 2000 when it comes to intermediate gain (as I qualify the Oranges :) the only trick to master using the supersonic emulation is to find the right balance of Gain 1, Gain 2 and MASTER. Particularly the combination of Gain1 and Gain 2 can be tricky but you can get a lot of different medium gain tones from it. With some feedback we can improve that I'm pretty sure.

The main source I used for comparison which includes Tiny terror and Dark terror side by side sounds is here, both amps are very closely related, even electronically (only one tube difference)
