Never played a IV but from the huge sound I get from the III, it must be fairly awesome!

I had a Line 6 Flextone III XL 2X12. Amazing sounds! Good looks. I am not too upset on the tolex but with all the Mustang can do? Thing is I have a MIII Cover and would have to pay to return it. Waiting on who gets one first, Here in Nevada I hear before the end of Feb. But I just got my New Robin Trower CD today in mail,,, Comes out Feb 15th?? Go Figure. Hope I luck out with the Mustang! But you would think there would be a variety of guitar stuff in Vegas?? Nope. Theres some but not a lot of choices at all...

My tele with lower output single coils sounds much better than my les paul with humbuckers.

Interesting, I find the opposite with my M-IV. Single coils (ok, admittedly humbuckers on my L-P with a coil tap) sound a bit thin and uninspiring, the full-on humbucker sounds much better for both clean and crunchy tones. Maybe it's all just personal preference...

Well, Just preordered My MIII V2 from GC. They say I was one of the first to order. They hear Mid Feb to Mid March? AHHH, Just want it to be Fizz Free! By the way they gave me $50 off and I added their 3 year Pro coverage. Well worth it. Oh did I say I would be happy if ( and I believe) it is fizz free? Anyway, Wait and see. I will be posting Youtube Vids on it! Cheers Mark

I play both single coil and humbuckers with my MIII. They can both sound great through that amp, but I found I had to change some settings depending on which guitar.

For example, I made a preset with just a little bit of distortion coming through for my Lucille. When I plug in my Ibanez with higher-gain pickups, it sounds like Eddie Van Halen distortion.

For me, the Fender amp models sound best with my Tele with single coils, and the high gain amps sound best with my Les Paul with humbuckers.

Thanks,

While nobody has said, you'd have to bet on Silvertone.

I have a no-fizz Mustang IV that I just love. I don't care about the new amps and effects but I WISH that I could use an overdrive with the wah, or the od with a comp or...

Why, oh why can't I use that amp like a "real" one? I will hang on to the IV but I have an old Mesa Mark III incoming and that may put the IV to sleep. We'll see :)

You can- just plug the desired pedal into the front end or loop- just like you would with a "real" amp.

I get that if you have MIII without the fizz the upgrade might not be worth it. I, on the other hand have a Mustang I. I realized pretty early with that amp that I needed my FX pedals in front of the amp. With the MI there just isn't any way to control the FX from the amp while you play. Anyway, what that did for me is that, without all of the FX presets, I started tinkering with amp models for amps that I had never played before.
It's a beautiful thing being able to dial up a dozen amps that I could never afford to buy.

I have an MIII V.2 on order and I will use the FX built in on this amp. I can add 2.5 pedals to my board for the price I paid for the MIII V.2 pre-order. XLR outs are nice bonus for recording. To have all this power and flexibility for the price is amazing. Fender has done a great thing creating this series and any improvements are a plus.

About the FIZZ issue. I have a Boss AC-3 pedal that fizzes. The solution I found was to run it in front of a Bad Monkey (Digitech tube Overdrive) with the gain all the way down and everything else to 12 o'clock. I get a little warming this way but the fizz is gone. Has anyone thought of trying a solution like this in the FX loop of the Mustang III?

you cant' get rid of the fizz this way as the fizz occurs AFTER the fx loop (in the solid state power amp)

I watched the v2 demo in youtube, interesting.

Of the four new amp models ( i do not consider the studio preamp an amp model and is already on the floor anyway) I can easily replicate the Twin 57 and the Orange (the british colour as they call it) on my V1 amp, the presets are already on FUSE site.

the Hi watt and silvertone models sound interesting, maybe worth investigating, but I have no experience with this amps. I would start with the supersonic for the hiwatt and maybe the deluxe 57 for the silvertone...

any thoughts?

The studio preamp can be a good thing if you want a clean tone out through the XLR-output and use an external amp-simulator. And maybe it would work for acoustic guitars too.

The Twin, yeah should be similar to the fender cleans we already have, but the Orange could be really fun. Yeah there are presets that make other amp-models sound close to the orange, but this sounds orange right out the box, the amp and the distortion will have a different character, so we could make even more sounds from this new orange thingy.

This orange-thingy will probaly be the most hi-gain of the new amps, right?

Please fender, give us a little extra gain squeze to this one and the other british amps, possibility is better than limitation! ;)

Holy mother of god, I'm going to buy this too!

AMT R-1, it is a preamp-pedal, you don't put it in front of the amp, but in the fx-loop, so it skips the amps preamp. I mean, 99€ for a whole more preamp, totalt worth it.

They have R-1 (Tripple Rectifier), E-1 (Engl Fireball), B-1 (Bogner Sharp), P-1 (peavey 5150), S-1 (Soldano Slo).

How come I havent heard about those before? They have super reviews, and sound really good on youtube. Here I guy tests a couple of those pedals in a mix:

I have never used the FX-loop on the mustang but I am really glad that the mustang have a FX-loop now! :o Now my amp will have both amazing cleans, crunch AND metal-bad-ass-rip-batmans-pants-off-lead! :)

Where? A search for "britsh colour" gives no result.
