I want fender mustang to work better with overdrive/distortion pedals. And this could be fixed through software by lowering the input inside the DSP

mmmm have you tried lowering the amp emulation gain? what you are looking sounds like the definition of it.

Gonna test that. But I heard hi-distortion pedals work little so-so with the fender mustang so I've been afraid to buy for example a Metal Muff

Can't say about the Metal Muff but my Mustang takes overdrive/distortion pedals very well. You have to tweak both to get the sound. Metal??? I dunno.

Yeah, it will probaly go down after a while. Or they had to spend 10$ extra on a better powersupply (around 30$ for us! :p)

And an entirely new chip. Thus no firmware upgrade path.

But really sweet though! Then maybe the amps sound better, new chip probaly means faster chip, because the processors advances really fast. It also could mean better effects, more effects and more amps.

So we got a better Power Supply, a new chip, 5 new amps, more stomps. This upgrade is bigger than i thought.

But for a lot more cash and a much crappier look (same old black tolex vs. classy carbon fiber), so it ain't all gravy. The MIII V.1 for example will soon be blown out to make room for V.2, I'd expect it in the $199-$229 range within a month or so at MF and others.

I thought about a thing I REALLY REALLY want fender to fix. Fender please listen!

I want fender mustang to work better with overdrive/distortion pedals. And this could be fixed through software by lowering the input inside the DSP, so that the signal gets lower before it hits the amp-modelings. You can do this in all guitar-modelling-softwares.

You may have already tried this, and I'm not an expert, but absolutely the best tip I've got with this problem is to lower the level on the overdrive/distortion pedal and work the volume on the amp instead. I've done this with a TS9 and Boss MT2 and heard a huge improvement in both.

I find my Mustang 3 doesnt like a strong input signal period. My tele with lower output single coils sounds much better than my les paul with humbuckers.

Yeah, look at how low you have to set the input level to clean up supposedly "clean" amps like the Twin, practically to zero--at least with a humbucker. The input is too hot, they need to chill it out a bit.

I am back again, I loved my MIII !!! the fizz was not so bad, but I did return and get a Blues JR for a week,, I need the new MIII V2!!! The amp was so nice and I really liked it. I am sure, that the fizz is gone due to what I see about the power supply being addressed. So,, How soon can I get one? I appreciate the advice! Thanks mark

Looks like around the first of March, if we're lucky. But yeah, the new power supply is a dead giveaway they ID'd the problem and fixed it. It's not impossible the new chip may reduce noise as well. It is a fairly noisy amp overall.
