well i ended up with an extra 100$ for xmas and decided to get a small practice amp with a headphones jack for practicing odd hours and picked up a mustang 1. right off the bat im gonna say it sounds great. the fender sounds are so unbelievably good. ive been playing it nonstop for about two weeks now and i love it. i dont like the ableton software because when you stream audio from the amp it disables the laptops onboard sound system so you cant monitor on your headphones. (if im wron g about this help me out!) but fuse works great and the amp is very easy to use. extremely light weight, and fantastic for recording. im very glad i got it and im now even considering picking up a 3 or 4 for gigging. i havent dug to deep into the high gain sounds but i feel confident i could get good sound. i have a superchamp x2 and got great high gain sounds out of it. in my recordings i use the octave effect to simulate a bass player (i gots no bass!) and it works well enough for my amatuer recording stuff. my requwst to fender would be to add a wet dry knob to that effect for a pure bass tone for home recording enthusiasts. anyways nothing much to discuss i guess but lots of fun.

Here is an example of the sound quality of the mustang 1. All guitar sounds are from the mustang effects included recorded with a multitrack app on an iPhone. The drums and vocals were captured by iPhone also. No external mic was used just the onboard mic. I think these amps sound really good!

I was just thinking about something like this today. I have a Mustang l and a SCX2 also. Having the Mustang allows me to play anytime I want and to experiment with fuse for hours. All while not disturbing anyone else. Anything I learn or discover with the Mustang and fuse can be useful with my SCX2. Knowing all the reverbs and delays and what I like then lets me set up similar parameters in the SC. I guess what I am saying is the Mustang lets one really get to play with fuse and know the effects without anyone having to "tolerate" the experiments. I get lost in my mustang and headphones. I think it sounds great, all things considered.

I was wondering where you were, Andy. Now I know.

I enjoyed your song and words/phrasing.

So true! I find the mustang to be an amazing platform for exploration. I love my scx2 but its a little less friendly for experimenting. I'm seriously considering a mustang 3 now. I think the sounds are pretty authentic. I'd just have to try o e out in a store at high volume to hear for myself. I think live you can get away with solidstate and this stuff sounds great recorded. Yeah I e been lost in a set of headphones for a while! Thanks for listenen to my song. I recently set my drums up In the garage and have been having a field day making recordings.
Cheers!

Only had my Mustang I for a couple of weeks now but I'm still having a ball with it. I have 4 other amps sitting here (2 are tube amps too) but this little Mustang is such a blast especially with FUSE & all the downloads to experiment with - I get lost in headphones too for hours on end sometimes.

Totally! I bought the thing with zero expectations just a practice amp but it is now my most used amp! The stereo sounds are awesome in the headphones. Those ping pong delays! Bet that sounds fat with a mustang 4 or 5!

Hi andygutmonkey,

It sounds like you are checking things out at this point. Please feel free to contact us with any specific questions you may have. Regarding using your amp with Ableton Live Lite Fender Edition software, you should be able to monitor through your built in PC hardware. Again, please contact us directly and we can offer you some specific support on this or other concerns that you may have. Thanks.

Howdy out there in the Mustang Universe,
I´m a newbie here (I own a Mustang I since March 2012) and I really do not know if anyone already has answered this question. Can anybody of you mustang-experts help me in the saddle and tell me how to upload custom made presets from my Mac Mini? All I found were descriptions like "... with right mouse click!" etc. I don´t have a mouse on my Mac that allows me to click left or/nor right (it´s just a normal-one-click-mac-mouse). That for I also cannot see a pop up window with options to choose. Got any ideas?

Hi Freewayflyer,

All the information you are referring to that states "right click" you can perform on any Mac by using "Control-click". Please let us know how it goes and if we can assist further. Thanks.

I just came across this thread. I just happen to buy a Mustang 1 last night on Amazon.
Ordered a decent set of headphones also.
I have read nothing but great reviews on it.
I've been practicing thru the computers inline jack w/ headphones.
Can't w8 to hear something better.

later,

D.

I'm really happy with mine! Let us know your opinions after you get it. I was already gunning for a 3 or 4 but now I'm waiting to see what the new ones are going to be like.
Cheers
