I recently sold my G-Dec 30 as it was just too confusing for me, yesterday bought a 'stang II at my local music store and love it. I've been through several amps over the last 8 or so years and came to the realisation that all I need is a decent sounding, easy to use solid state amp. I still have a first generation G-Dec and a roland 20 cube but neither one sounds good mostly becasue of the small speakers. The 12" in the Mustang....ah, at last, full range bass to treble. I have a 12" Celestion in the basement that I'll probably install at some point, just because. I love Fender.

Got the Mustang III and love it. People can say what they want about solid-state amps, but these guys sound pretty good and are hella fun.

Congrats.

Amen Jeff, I can see a tube amp if I played in a band but then again this 'Stang sounds awfully nice! I tried a few tube amps and for my needs just no reason to deal with them - letting the tubes warm up, someday having to replace the tubes, just don't need it.

I have 4 amps including 2 tube - I play now through headphones almost 100% of the time using Amp Sims and my Mustang I - I'm lovin' it @ 61... no need to wake the neighbors in the 21st century!

I have 2 old tubers - this one is a 1963 Ace Tone Duetto (it's not American but Japanese) - an awesome find I might add - almost MINT CONDITION (except the leather strap rotted off the handle) with Tremelo and Reverb and a sound to die for... sounds sweet. And on 10 gives you goosebumps that only an old tuber can. I removed the 1/2 back cover for the photo...

Ace Tone was a company in Japan and the owner went on to found ROLAND. The sticker inside is in all Japanese but I'm guessing it's 15 or 20 watts with a 10" speaker.
