Hi,

Santa has the good idea to offer me a mustang III for christmas but i have some issues to connect my amplifier to fuse. I have a computer with Q6600 intel processor, P5K motherboard, 4 Go of RAM, a Nvidia 560 ti and a alesis usb soundcard

I read a lot of post on this forum but i find no solution for my problem.

After installing Fuse and ASIO driver, my os (wich is Windows 7 64) recognize the amp as "Mustang Amplifier" in the Hardware Manager. I can see him in the sound control pannel as recording device.

I'm able to record myself using cubase and asio4all but Fuse don't recognize the amp and Fender Asio doesn't work.

I made install/reinstall a lot of time (using the beta version of Fuse 2.6.1), install/reinstall silverlight, disconnect all my usb devices, install/reinstall driver but it still don't work.

I have a old laptop with Windows 7 64 and i try to install fuse. It works fine, i have no problem with fuse, it recognized the amp immediatly.

Can you help me, i'm going to get crazy, i don't understand why Fuse and my Mustang amp doesn't work with my computer when i'm able to record with it.

Thanks for your response.

First, FUSE (for configuring the amp) and ASIO (for recording) are two completely independent and separate things. Also, the presence of the Mustang amp as a recording device in Control Panel is irrelevant if you're using ASIO. So there are two completely separate issues here.

You say "Fender ASIO" doesn't work. Please explain in more detail exactly what you're trying to do and what exactly happens. Note that "Fender ASIO" isn't a program, it's just an ASIO driver. You have to configure your recording application (Cubase in your case) to use that driver for its sound input.

It's possible Cubase automatically detects ASIO4ALL (as that's a well-known freeware ASIO driver) and has configured itself to use that. If that works fine for your recording, then you could always stick with that; I'm not aware that the Fender ASIO driver is going to offer anything different/better than the generic ASIO4ALL driver. But as above, it's probably just that you need to tell Cubase to use the Fender driver specifically, if that's what you want.

As for FUSE not recognising the amp: suggest you de-install and re-install the USB drivers in Windows. There are three of them. Sometimes it seems the initial install doesn't always work. Fender (forum name "Fender TSL") have quite recently posted detailed instructions on how to do that. Here's the topic, to save you searching (as I assume you searched before posting a new topic and didn't find this one). It includes other advice / suggestions for a problem similar to yours so the whole thread is probably worth a read:

(The Fender reply on reinstalling drviers is the seventh post in the topic).

Thanks for your response.

I've already seen this post but it doesn't work.

The only thing i do is making the mess on my computer (but i'm french, maybe it's the reason).

The only thing i found strange is that on my laptop (who Fuse works), the Mustange are identified by the computer like anyone els usb device - without specification - with windows driver from 2009 and on my computer (who Fuse doesn't work) like a mustang amplifier with windows driver from 2010.

For ASIO, thank you, but i know how it's work. It's just taht when i choose Fender asio on Cubase, the fender mustang are iactive. No way to to make them available.

But it doesn't matter, ASIO4ALL is my friend !
