I'd like to be able to run a compressor and an overdrive pedal at the same time on the Mustang.

Hi strings,

Thanks for your suggestion! I was thinking a Mustang III or IV without the speaker and cab. I’m guessing it is frowned upon to link off to a competitor site but something similar to a POD is what I had in mind. Including the LCD and not having to hook it up to a computer to make edits would be ideal.

ahh ok I misunderstood. Interesting thought. Maybe it's in the works.

A few features that would really make the Mustang Floor more user friendly:

1. Delay and reverb spillovers when turning the effects on and off and from patch to patch.
2. Delay note values for easier tap tempo delay settings
3. Making the tap tempo global so when changing patches the tempo remains the same.
4. Allow patches to have delay times manually set to override the global tempo or note values to use the global tempo.
5. Allow foot switches to be assigned to other parameters than just on off with adjustable values for on and off.
6. Allow the expression pedals to control more than one parameter at a time.

Thats about it for my wish list. Thanks to the people at Fender for making a great product and for possibly considering any of these suggestions.

I have a high end CD changer with a very flexible DSP that can store a multitude of effects, equalization, volume levels, adjustable reverb, and more for each track. There is a Direct button that can return any or all settings to a direct state bypassing any effects, etc. Those direct features can be recorded as a temporary or permanent setting or not for each or all tracks.Something like this would be beneficial. Strat has introduced a bypass button on one (or more) of it's models in it's PU switching. I know the following would cost more , , , but, I have used stereo and surround preamps that used modular breadboards and/or attachments upon which you could add or exchange as the technology advances or as your budget allows. Computers do the same. It should be pointed out today's firmware and updates do a decent job, albeit more limited at times.

The only question here is whether the Mustang has a good enough neutral sound or if it would require some unique processing. I do know in years past a well know electronics company avoided specs simply because various filtering methods were preferred over the competition's specs. They said it was more important to sound good than look good on the spec sheet. When they could do both , , , they did of course.

- I want an ability to lock the mode-button to the left(4-button pedal), it is quite irritating when I'm playing with my three modes and all of sudden mode2/3 have been turned on :p

- Make more things to play with in fuse, like making the BIAS 0-100% instead of Less/normal/more. The community IS THE STRENGHT of the Mustang. The moding-community was the thing that made the game Half-Life huge (the home-made modification Counter-Strike was the most played online-game in the world all of sudden). If you give the community free hands to improve, this amp will be THE BIG thing in the amp-industry.

- More gain to the Marshall JCM-800 model, or maybe modify the Marshall JCM-800 with more high-gain and a little angrier sound and name it British 90's (Marshall JCM-2000 kind of)

- An angry dist-pedal, like a metal-muff! ;) this will attract the younger guitar players.

FUSE software improvements:

Make a separate drop down list that pertains to your patch list only; do not list the patch history; makes it confusing .

Make it so you can save your patches to an alternate location

Unless I am misunderstanding, the Media Library is the only way to find patches and dowload them

I don't get the Import or Open function because I can't get them to work. Fuse is a little confusing but I like the overall concept.

When saving a patch to another location you have to look where you're going to save it beforehand to make sure you're not overwriting one of your good patches. It would be nice if you can see what the names of the patches are at the location you're writing to

Add a volume knob to the Step Filter and Vibratone effects (or any that reduce the volume significantly when you engage them) because the volume dips and you have to use a compressor to compensate and it alters the tone too much

A METRONOME! Would be nice, and quite easy to program (heck, I know how to program that myself!).

UniVibe on the Mustang Floor.

The Vibratone doesn't cut it, and the onboard Phaser cannot be persuaded to offer the 'not quite - but it will do in a pinch' faux Vibe that some Phasers can.

Global Cab Sim on/off on the Mustang Floor.

Hello boys!

This is my wishlist for future upgrades (firmware or new models?) based on my experience with the Mustang I V1

1) The footswitch actually allows to switch between any couple of 2 presets assigned to 2 memories: the green and the red.

This is good but the best would be if we could switch at least between 3 preset. My idea is to switch between the green, the red and the actual preset knob position.

It should not be too hard to archive.

(Far better if we could create a sequence like in new zoom products, but i want to stay easy ;) )

2) Sadly, many people never connect their mustang to a computer to edit the preset, so they live their mustang amps based on the factory presets, with a limited tweak range. It will be far better if the factory preset would be a set of usable basic (allround) well shaped tones instead of the actual exotic demonstation of sound and noises

3) the mod knob and the rv/dly knob. They work really well, good idea, they really expand the way you can use the 24 preset. The best is the rv/delay knob where you can store couple of settings (one reverb and one delay). you should do the same with the other knob: the "mod knob" should become the "stomp/mod knob", so we can access to at least some option to use the stomps without being always connected to a pc/fuse.

4) the usb actually work in one direction only (amp->computer), it would be good to the output the pc sound directly via usb without a second audio cable

5) In any amp that i know the master volume variation change the way we perceive the sound in term of bass-mid-high interaction. In some word: when i change the volume i need to change a bit the tone settings... it would be good if the amp would auto compensate the change.

I hope some of you will like my ideas!

hi,

just as firmware update (no in new amp versions please) :

- the possibility to change fully the chain position of the 4 sections but with the flexibility for every effect in a section to become "guest" in a different section in a free slot (by Fuse i guess).. so to get more additional combinations and flexibility.
I mean: in a chain ordered as stomp -> modulation -> amp -> delay -> reverb for example, an overdrive model (tubescreamer) moves to modulation section and can be activated there.
in the original stompbox section the compressor can be activated before that overdrive.
Of course would be possible several combinations from such transfers even though sometimes you must do without a section type.. after all, not always in a preset you're using all four effect categories at the same time.
Often my solution might come in handy..

- some new amp models: for example Mesa Boogie Mark series particularly lead channels .. American '90 is fine but it has a different character compared to vintage Mesa Boogies.
- Some additional vintage cab models and stompbox/effect models as well..

- A virtual master knob for all amp models:
both vintage and modern / hi-gain models to manage easily high output levels (expecially in combination with stompbox pedals) in combination with the real Master volume of the amp..

- a level booster (in utility menu) also for AUX input to (pre)amplify the volume coming from a mp3/video player which usually is rather lower compared to the output level of a amp model/preset expecially if saturated..
this point is linked to the previous request because a virtual master volume in all amp models would help a lot (effective especially if combined with the action of AUX booster input level) to balance the sound of guitar with musical base/song.

- in the Fuse graphical interface: a font bigger and more readable in the parameters display and show in it all parameters , even basic parameters of the amp models (gain, volume, bass , mid, treble,..) to modify them accurately: i'm thinking to that users that hasn't the display on their Mustang models.. (Mini, M1 , M2..)

I had the 1st 2 on a separate thread but happy to add them here.

1. A modulation delay, like ehx memory series.

2. Spillover delay & reverb.

3.Comp & OD pedal simultaneously.

My 2 penneth.

For the Mustang Floor. New overdrive / distortion stompbox models. This is an area that many consider weak on the unit not just myself. For that reason alone I think many would be leery of buying the next gen floor model.

The 4 button and 2 button foot-switches are lacking the ability to access multiple patches at a time while scrolling up or down, like many multi-effect floorboards. It would be great to see a setting that (when working together with all 6 switches) you could actually bring up 4 new patches (on 4 button foot-switch) while scrolling up or down (on 2 button foot-switch).

In this way you would be able to scroll through 25 user banks with 4 patches in each. I would find this more helpful then being limited to only 3 quick patches.

Using this feature a player would easily have more options while playing live, for example: 25 banks with immediate access to a dry, wet, clean, and lead patch. Each set of patches could be the same amp or all 4 could be completely different, however the player prefers!

Would this be possible in a future firmware upgrade to the Mustang V.2?

Other requests:
1. Ability to add 2 stompboxes, modulations, or delays on the same patch.
2. A true univibe effect.
3. More wah models for the EXP-1.
4. A user manual that goes into more depth for effects and amps.
5. A new expanded foot-switch with more control of amp.

Without a doubt, the Mustang is amazing!
